Just seen that boss are releasing a wireless version of their QC. QC35.

Bastards.

I've only used my QC25 on about 5 flights! Since they came out. The QC15 where out for ages before they updated - or at least I'm sure they where.

meh, who cares man, you own a great product (though i prefer the qc20i), and a cable on a plane can hardly be a problem. plus, sound quality will likely be slightly inferior.

if you really care you could sell them now though.

I don't really care but it's going to be an issue if the new iphone doesn't have an 3.5mm jack for it.

You've actually convinced me to cancel my pre order for it though, completely pointless getting it because I only use it for traveling on the plane and I have no planes to upgrade my ipad in the foreseeable future.

I'll just get the little adaptor that surely someone - apple will probably bring one out as well - that will allow me to use my shure earphones as well.

something kinda weird that i didn't think about but saw someone mention. how do you use bluetooth headphones with inflight entertainment? aren't long haul flights the primary use case for many people when it comes to these headphones?

Have you (or anyone else) had issues with the qc20s breaking? Ive had my QC15s since 2012 and they still work great. I got the QC20s in April of 2015, and they stopped noise cancelling in November of 2015, I got a replacement pair and decided to buy the extended warranty, and then one ear stopped working about 2 months ago, and got another replacement set. Not sure if this is run bad, or the nature of the smaller headphones makes them more susceptible to damage.

At the very least the replacement process in-store is great. Was on vacation for one of replacements, walked into a Bose store and didnt even need a receipt/email/anything and walked out with a new pair in 5 mins.

The QC35s come with an audio cable so you can use them without using Bluetooth.

The end of the cable that goes into the headphones is smaller than a standard 3.5mm connector so it seems you can only use the cable that comes with the headphones.

Has anyone tried the Xiaomi Piston 3 earbuds yet?

Getting amazing reviews for around $20 on all the headphone/IEM review places. My buddy said he liked them better than his $70 pair of klipsch's.

I'll give these a test run and report back.

Pretty good sound for their price. I use them mainly for running and I find they fall out too easily which isnt ideal. Would probably buy again when they break.

They've done that so you have to buy from them.

Well, I broke my shure earphones Long story dropped them in the toilet

Totally ****ed, Shure want a fortune to replace them so I may as well buy a new set.

I think i'm going to get a pair of bluetooth earphones, I'm not sure where I go down the shure route again and get myself a westone bluetooth cable.

Or go for B&O H5 or even the new apple airpods. Tough choice.

I wanted to switch from my QC25 to QC20's, i tried my friends and preferred them. I was fed up with going through a pack of batteries each week. I travel a lot and its hard to sleep with your head on its side wearing the large headphones. Lastly, my ears get pretty hot when wearing them at the poker table.

So anyway i went to look for QC20's online and saw there is a new model out, QC30 but after reading the reviews it seems that there are quite a lot of problems with them. I also don't like that neck thing.

Are there any other good noise cancelling earphones (in ear)? Is it silly to buy the old model (QC20) now?

I didn't even know they released teh QC30s, yeh that neck thing look utterly stupid. Just get get the QC20.

the QC20s are $200 on bose.com black friday deal with free shipping. i don't know if that's the best price ever but it seems very good.

Hey guys. I have a crappy headset with the volume on windows turned to 1%. Can use with stars as they have a volume control within their software, but on party/888 1% is waaaaaaay to loud to be bearable! Any way around this or do I simply need an upgraded headset?

Sound/mic quality is suprisingly good on anything where I can adjust the volume (youtube, itunes, pokerstars, games, etc).

Cheers!

can't you just go to the mixer within windows? (right click the speaker in the bottom right)

oh ok yeah, i wasn't sure if the individual poker site applications would be different in the mixer, but i guess they aren't as a default

looks like there's a few answers here, google ftw

You're google searching is level 2000+, I didn't find anything like this!

For anyone with the same problem The way to do this, is to have your main volume set to 100, and set your Chrome (or whatever program) to 1. then when you lower your main volume from 100, to lets call it 50, effectively the 1 goes to .5. its just not displayed.

Thank youuuu

PS, above wont work on 888, because of buggy software that forces the table sounds volume to jump to max every time a sound gets played. Everything else good though!

So had the airpods for a few days now - since they came out.

Wondered into the apple store and happened to pick them up.

i must say, i'm pretty impressed by them. The battery life is great. They work great with my iphone/ipad. The sound quality is actually pretty decent. The only thing that annoys me is that they aren't very good at sound isolation which however is handy when you pull one out and it pauses. You can also easily speak and hear people when you have 1 in.

Done a few phones calls with them over the past few days, there is a slight crackle in the sound from their ends but nothing that wouldn't cause any issues or make you not use them. From comments from others they've said they can hear me quite clearly.

I done a little test, i put my bose speaker outside at the far side of the pool. 3m away. If I walk in with my phone it cuts out, or goes patchy. Simply doesn't work if I go into the kitchen. Around 8m aways.

Done the same test leaving my phone outside with the airpods in, managed to walk out of the kitchen and into the front room. Still worked. Strange that it works over 10m and through about 4 or 5 walls.

Over all pretty impressive. Not a patch on shures but easier, quicker and more portable. Will be using them as earphones from now on, bose qc30s for travel still though

Picked up both the Fidelio X2 and the Massdrop x Sennheiser HD6xx (literally the same hardware as the HD650) with the intention of keeping the one I liked more.

The Fidelio is amazing, but the treble is a tad sibilant, and aside from the bass response doesn't sound any better than the Sennheiser when plugged directly into my home theater receiver. Even straight out of my iPhone SE it sounded great, but the bass response was slightly reduced, and the volume near max. It has slightly elevated bass (not as much as the X2), lush and prominent mids (not forward, though), and mellow yet detailed treble. They're very rewarding for long listening sessions.

The HD650 is a banger of a headphone, and for $200 is a steal. If Massdrop does another one you all should definitely get it.

Can you compare the Sennheiser HD6xx to the Sennheiser Momentums?
