yeah sorry I somehow missed your exact post while I usually read every post itt

See your point about the bluebuds being far from perfect (seems they don't always fit well and are not as sweat resistant as advertised).
But even when running I usually listen to high quality rips so think I'll buy them anyway even if some of those $50 ones might be better value. Will report back when I've tested them thx.

see how they fit out of the box, then google 'bluebuds comply foam tips' if you need to go down that route

My biggest worry with a pair of headphones like that is how they hold up to sweat.

Do any cheap options offer any kind of warranty against sweat?

I have a pair of these:

They have been through the washing machine twice with no harm.

To me they sound surprisingly good for the price.

Any thoughts on Sennheiser Urbanite XL?: http://en-us.sennheiser.com/urbanite-xl

I'm not an audiophile. My main criteria is sound better than my iphone earbuds, look cool, & be able to take phone calls w/out taking them off. I'm hesitant to get headphones w active noice cancelling becaues the one's i've tried give my ears an uncomfortable pressure feeling.

I would mainly use these working around the house/yard (good reason to get wireless instead?) on the weekends and when I'm on travel (~1 week/month), so they won't get a ton of use.

for earbuds, would you guys say klipsch is better or bose? does it just come down to personal preference?

Thinking about buying those. Thoughts?

or is this a better deal. 50% off for $200 pair so tempting.

Shure is legit and >>>>>>>> klipsch and Bose

Get it. It wraps over your ear instead of straight down though, which means it takes longer to put on but is more secure once it's on

+1 on shures

I'd go for the SE315s at least though, they might not be on sale but are worth the extra money.

The SE846 is going for $830 on mass drop (1k retail), 5 hours left

Just an fyi

Looking for recommendations for bluetooth over the ear/closed back (preferably) headphones.

1. Will use exclusively with ipad or iphone.
2. Will likely be 50/50 split between music and movies via NF or Moviebox.
3. Will never leave the house unless taking car trip
4. Comfort important, as is sound but not an audiophile by any means
5. Battery life - meh....will likely recharge nightly.
6. Noise cancellation not really necessary.
7. Want to stay $225'ish or below if possible.

So many to choose from and so many reviews it's hard to know what's what. I have a pair of Bose (QC I think)...kinda small on-ear corded. They sound good but I think I prefer over the ear for the bluetooth. I also have a pair of Sennheiser TR120 that were about $80 for when my wife yelling I have the tv too loud...they're fine.....nothing great but they do the trick for RF Headphones.

Lots of good reviews on these Sony's.......they run about $179

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR10RBT-...702846-8654133

Also looking at the Bose Soundlink- I think they're about $215

Any others that I need to consider in that price range?

Hello all,

I'm considering purchasing some wireless earphones for when I work out. I was looking at some powerbeats but at £200 they're a bit above what I would like to pay.

Does anyone in here use wireless earphones? Can anyone recommend me a pair £100 or less?

Much obliged.

I waited until I got my foam tips to give feedback, might as well order them right away as you'll need them imo.
Wasn't sure how much I liked the blubuds at first but using the foam tips they are great. Music quality is very good and they isolate you from outside noise better than anything.

They didn't exactly fall out of my ear even when running but weren't staying completely put either so sound was a bit distant.

Not sure about price (compared to like the regular wired sennheiser earbuds) but if you're not on a mission to find the best value product out there the are nice.

Hi guys. I've only read a few pages and have seen some good recommendations but am looking for a couple pairs of headphones for a Christmas gift. My budget is ~$200 but if I need to I can go to $250 (combined).

I want one pair of noise canceling over the ear Bluetooth headphones. They will be used mostly for podcasts and are not for an audiophile by any means. They are often used to avoid being distracted by me watching sporting events (and sometimes worn to fall asleep with light background noise taking advantage of the noise canceling so wireless fits better here).

The other pair would be in ear headphones used for running. I assume wireless are also more comfortable here but they should be something that won't easily fall out. Sound quality not extremely important here either so long as it's not terrible.

Is it best to spend $200 on the sennsenheisers above and then get a $20-40 in ear pair or what? I know nothing about headphones whatsoever.

Actually I have a stupid question. Are wireless headphones only compatible with phones and tablets or do they work with computers too? Might need wired headphones if wireless won't work with laptops.
12-16-2014 , 03:48 PM
It would use Bluetooth which all recent laptops and tablets will be compatible with.

Anything that has bluetooth built in or has a USB port for a bluetooth usb dongle (although all items may not have the drivers for it or available; any desktop/laptop would be fine).

As others have said a PC would work but unless your motherboard has Bluetooth(if you're asking, it does not) you will need to buy one, can't imagine it costing more than $10.

A laptop likely has one.

Are you a headphones collector?

my initial response is 'absolutely not'. but then when i start to count them up, there is quite a lot. i'm not really an audiophile, i just really like headphones and like to have ones for different occasions. my current tally is:

- sennheiser hd555s
- sennheiser hd600s
- bose qc15
- bose qc20i
- sennheiser px200-ii
- sony sbh-80

and then the cheapish gym bluetooth earbuds i've mentioned in the past, iphone headphones, etc.

of course this is nothing compared to most posters on head-fi or wherever.

Anyone ever done this (snapped the plastic on the earbud - Shure SE315s)?

Is there anything I can do about it?
