So when a guy is getting his ass kicked and outstruck he does worse in a fight? Interesting.

I also wouldn't say he got sloppy in that scramble. It was a lazy, telegraphed shot, but the scramble was 2 seconds and he was outclassed by a dude with a nasty d'arce. $.02.
02-18-2016 , 07:21 PM
I think he used to have a big problem with getting hit, but since the Felder fight he's looked way better in that area.
02-18-2016 , 07:35 PM
Phresh I said he was clearly winning until that elbow in the 2nd, then he started being very hesitant and eventually shot a very sloppy takedown and got sloppy on the ground and subbed. Which all fits my narrative of falling apart when getting hit.
02-18-2016 , 09:05 PM
Where do you separate "falling apart when getting hit" and "rocked from a shot and fighting worse from it" though? Nobody can withstand being rocked. That's different from falling apart when getting hit. If a guy is getting clipped when he comes in, I expect him to change gears and reassess, especially after getting hit with a good shot like a big elbow.

Brock = falling apart when getting hit.

You also mentioned MJ as a testament to that, even though MJ was clearly just pressuring him properly and outclassing him on the feet. Sometimes people fight better opponents. Tyron Woodley isn't hesitant and doesn't fall apart on the feet, Rory just picked him apart and jammed him up, similar to MJ and EB.

I just think you rewrite how things happened to fit whatever narrative you're pushing. He got sloppy on the ground? The sub happened in like 2 seconds and the d'arce is TF's signature move. Again, what's the difference between being sloppy and just outclassed in a split second maneuver? Chael didn't get sloppy against Maia, he was simply outclassed.

That **** was locked in ASAP by a guy known for his brabo. He's obviously trained to hit that off a quick scramble a LOT.

"Tell that Brazilian bitch Werdum I'm comin'! He's a stick in the mud. Precision and timing beat size and power. Mark my words, I haven't been wrong yet. I will be the first 7-division and multi-gender champion in the UFC. When you rack up 720 million in 3 events, you get certain perks. Lorenzo is on my speed dial. They come to ME for advice. The C in UFC stands for Conor."

Apparently most mma betting sites have stopped taking bets on Kimbo vs DaDa 5000.

Kimbo gonna throw the fight. A lot of people feel like his last fight was a work too.

If he was willing to plant his feet and throw his right hand with more power he might of been the perfect fighter. Pre acl surgery anyways.

Can still get 8/5 from WillHill.

Wondering is it worth sticking some on?

His double leg is what MMA dreams/nightmares are made of. At times it was truly unstoppable.

poor jay hieron would've loved to have been dealing with his double leg

Honestly I got no idea, never seen this situation before really. I would think if the bookies suspect foul play to be likely, they'd just cancel all bets. Unless enough money still comes in on Kimbo that they could profit even off a Kimbo loss.

David Choe told a story about BJ on Rogans podcast thats pretty interesting and I've heard stuff about it before.

Quote:
David Choe is a friend of the owner of the clothing company RVCA, a longtime sponsor of BJ Penn, was asked to make a trip on March of 2006 for UFC 58 in Las Vegas, to do two things:

1. Deliver a pair of RVCA walk-out pants to BJ

2. Place a $40,000 bet on BJ to win the fight (vs Georges St-Pierre)

The story as Choe tells it, is that the night of the weigh-ins (the day before the fight), a man in the hotel room next to BJ's (the guy wasn't associated with BJ's team in anyway, the best that I can gather) had strangled a 21 year-old hooker, and left her dead body in the hallway... right in front of BJ's room. "Even though they knew he (BJ) didn't do it, they took him in for questioning, that day" he added.

Choe goes on to say that he called his buddy to ask if he still wanted to place to the bet on BJ winning the fight, because he "might be a little ****ed up".

BJ is known to hold chokes too long.
