He also is disrespectful, poorly spoken, undereducated, and refuses to swallow the spoons full of **** they are shoveling.

lol you guys are freaking ridiculous. Yea Nick is such a burden they continually offer him fights, and they do it with their biggest stars in the sport. Do you not remember Dana calling Nick a needle mover? He still talks about offering Diaz fights.

Not to mention this is the perfect time to have Nick fight. GSP is retired, a guy Diaz KO'd brutally is champ and there isn't really anyone in the top 5 right now that would blanket him as GSP, Fitch, and Askren are not fighting in the UFC so every match up for him is great.

And both Nicks fights with GSP & Silva did way above their average. 950k & 650k.

The UFC makes a lot of money off Diaz when he fights, them being implicit in him getting a 5 year ban is full blown ******ed.

^Yeah no way the UFC is behind this. They may not like Nick personally, but they love his business.

Looks like almost everyone in MMA is behind Diaz here (aside from the usually sensible John Kavanagh) and a few fighters (Cejudo and Sterling) have boycotted fighting in Nevada. It would be hilarious if this was the catalyst that sparked the long overdue fighters union.

How does the fine work? Is it something that is regulated by a contract signed prefight between the fighther and commision?
09-17-2015 , 04:30 PM
I think they're just whatever the nsac feels that day. Worst case, if the ban is upheld, I don't think he has to pay. Only if he wants future licensure.

That's good news.

Anyone catch TUF last night?

Spoiler:
lol at how they brought Artem back.

one team gets their d1 wrestler back the other gets a .500 guy who trains with McGregor seems fair

Conor probably threatened to quit if Artem wasn't brought back. What's really unfair now is that someone who wins doesn't get to move on. That's serious BS.

It's a percentage of the disclosed pay between the promotion and the fighter.

For example, when Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. got popped for weed in Nevada for the second time, he got suspended nine months and fined 30% of his purse.

The purse for that fight was $3,000,000, so the fine was $900,000.

IIRC thats not really new for TUF. I think when Kimbo was on he got dominated pretty badly, and they worked it so he made it to the later stages because he was the only reason people were watching.

Yes they have brought people back before but only as replacements I believe. This time there will be 5 quarter final fights and uncle Dana (I assume) is going to disqualify one of the winners based on performance or lack thereof which, once again opens the door for shenanigans.

Thanks, from the article i learned that the fighter can contest the fine in court or he can elect not to fight ever again in Nevada.

I didn't watch it, but supposedly it was announced on the Bellator Dynamite show that Fedor signed with former Pride president Nobuyuki Sakakibara's new promotion for a NYE show. It's tough to articulate my disappointment, but Fedor, my all time favorite fighter, deserves a good bit of the incoming hate.

Thought Tito was gonna pull off the upset for a second

Just returned from the bellator dynamite event. It was my first time at a real mma event and it was pretty cool. Besides those fighters on the card I got up close and personal with cheick Kongo, Nate Diaz, stitch, cyborg, kimbo slice, bj penn, Royce Gracie, George st Pierre, josh koschek, the last emperor, Kendall grove, Daniel Cormier. For an old school fanboy like me it was pretty cool. Probably the most impressive thing to see live (as opposed to on TV) was Paul Daley in a kick boxing match. The speed and power of his strikes is scary.

i miss the old pride new years events, they were GOAT

remember the first one they did in america when they announced the athletic commission people and the crowd relentlessly booed them because they weren't allowing knees/kicks to the head of downed opponents?

so trill

I mostly agree, but it's a good intro for the fighters to know what to expect if they ever do make the UFC.

Yep. This is just gross.
09-21-2015 , 04:09 PM
yeah Fedor signing was terrible but I've been longing for some japanese MMA, even Dream was awesome when it was around. So if this helps that become a reality, w/e im down.
09-21-2015 , 04:35 PM
ive also been longing for inferior quality events
09-21-2015 , 05:50 PM
Any speculation on the opponent? Wonder if I'll even have heard of them.
09-21-2015 , 06:25 PM
DC,

A match the fans have been hoping would happen for a long time, Fedor matched up against another legend of the sport, Ken Shamrock.
