Yeah, I agree with that, though I could definitely see Aldo wanting to take the currently scheduled fight no matter what for the financial reasons. I guess he'd have to weigh that against the bigger chance of losing the belt and the financial hit that would mean.

It'll be so funny, though, because we know what Dana would say:

[if the fight goes on]: This is the UFC. The most elite professional fighting organization in the world with the toughest fighters in the world. Every single fighter is hurt to some degree after training camp when he steps into the ring, that is part of being a champion. This is a 100% legitimate championship bout, the only difference between this and other championship fights is that the injury info got leaked beforehand.

[if the fight doesn't go on]: This is the UFC. The most elite professional fighting organization in the world with the toughest fighters in the world. To win the championship you need to beat a champion ready to fight not one with a broken rib, that is part of being a champion. This would not be a legitimate championship bout if we went ahead with it, the UFC is committed to its fans and only putting on great fights.

^(on no go)+ "fighter safety is paramount in the ufc and we don't want aldo risking permanent injury" etc...

Takeya Mizugaki is a BEAST. He absolutely deserves to fight Conor McGregor for the interim title. What's that? Someone said it's a joke fight? Which moron was that? (inaudible response). Well that guy knows nothing about mixed martial arts. He can go **** himself.
06-24-2015 , 01:26 PM
[Joe rogan] "Takeya mizugaki is a samurai. Conor's never faced anything like him. He is a tactician in the cage with great striking and is a legitimate black belt on the ground. This is quite possibly the greatest featherweight matchup ever, it's going to be chaos!"
06-24-2015 , 01:29 PM
Fal,

"This will be Conor's toughest test."
06-24-2015 , 01:31 PM
Takeya Mizugaki has seen everything Joe. He's been in there with Dominic Cruz, URIJAH FABER, MIGUEL TORRES. He's the first fighter we've seen in the UFC who ISN'T SCARED of Conor McGregor. LOOK AT HIS EYES. THIS IS THE GREATEST FIGHT OF ALL TIME.
06-24-2015 , 01:35 PM
[Dana]: What an ANIMAL this Irish warrior Conor McGregor is taking on an ABSOLUTE BEAST like TAKEYA MIZUGAKI on THREE WEEKS NOTICE. That's like landing in Normandy with just a swiss army knife and a pickle sandwich!!!
06-24-2015 , 01:38 PM
[Joe] "Mizugaki is a veteran of the highest degree. He can take this fight because he stays in shape year round. The hardest part is finding sparring partners, because he just dismantles guys in the gym. No one wants a piece of him."
06-24-2015 , 02:15 PM
Aldo's getting an immediate rematch if he fights and loses. I'd bet he could negotiate a PPV cut for the second fight, assuming only champs get points, so not a bad way to bank 5+ million.
06-24-2015 , 02:38 PM
Tyson fought with a broken back. Spinal.
Tito fought with a cracked skull.
Pacquiao fought without a brain.

Why can't Aldo fight with a fractured rib?
06-24-2015 , 02:42 PM
He's just a pussy. This is how Brits roll:

06-24-2015 , 03:10 PM
lol why is aldo sparring super hard with 18 days until the biggest fight of his life?

i just dont get it, its like these BR fighters have possibly the most high variance in terms of being fight ready/getting injured or maybe have ******ed head trainers.

also that 1 armed boxing vdeo was the sickest comeback ive ever seen

Ok theres been a lot of rumors and ****ing speculation from the media guys saying that Aldos hurt, Aldo might not fight. Listen, ALDO is perfectly fine, hes just been training real ****ing hard OK? Things happen its fighting, but this fight is on, its always been ****ing on. Just relax.

Connor will fight, connor is a ****ing animal and even if hypothetically, IF Aldo is injured, which he sure as **** isnt, do you know, do you even KNOW what kind of amazing talent we have lined up? Could you imagine a beast like Clay "The Carpenter" Guida or maybe a ****ing Samurai ninja like Darren Elkins? Fight of the year is possible with any of those guys.

Just know, that this is the BIGGEST fight of all time, of any weight class, in any country, in fact if a ****ing space-faring being showed right now on earth in its spaceship, the first thing it would ask is "Am I on time for UFC 189?"

Ramsay a great bonus feature of that video.

Clay Guida is an ANIMAL. He beat Anthony Pettis AND Hafael Dos Anjos and Connor McGregor is STILL willing to fight him. His confidence reminds of me of a young Muhammad Ali, his movement reminds me of Usain Bolt and his power reminds of me Big George Foreman.

He is the best ever. He is the most brutal and most vicious and most ruthless champion there’s ever been. There’s no-one can stop him. Clay is a conqueror? No, Connor is Alexander, Guida's no Alexander. He is the best ever. There’s never been anybody as ruthless. He's Sonny Liston. He's Jack Dempsey, there’s no one like him — he's from their cloth. There’s no one that can match him. His style is impetuous. His defense is impregnable, and he's just ferocious. he wants your heart. He want to eat his children. Praise be to The Pope!

THIS IS THE BIGGEST FIGHT OF ALL TIME.

It was a spinning back kick. 10% chance that the guy really slipped.

What happened to the sketchy stuff around drug testing results at UFC Boston?
06-24-2015 , 05:35 PM
When ghosts sit around a campfire, they tell Clay Guida stories.

I think the results are to be released July 12 or something.

Apparently the MGM has taken down most of the Aldo vs McGregor posters.

I think McGregor will fight more likely than not on July 11 (given Aldo can't fight until October and all the Irish fans flocking to vegas plus the camp he set up there). And I think he will most likely fight Nate Diaz/someone similar at 155 and still get the shot vs Aldo if he loses. Or he gets a gimme at 145. Frankie is an outside shot and Mendes is way outside that.
06-24-2015 , 06:18 PM
boy those 6 months of promotion sure paid off
06-24-2015 , 06:37 PM
Nate Diaz at 155 seems pretty perfect to me
