Chris Camozzi is pretty decent. I'm not sure if he's good enough to win though.

Re: EDF MMA March Thread

James Toney isn't even a top 10 boxing heavyweight (despite what he/the UFC will tell you). And that's in a terrible heavyweight boxing landscape.

Also, he isn't heavy handed or fast anymore. He relies on his boxing skills/experience to stick around.

Having said that, he schools all these UFC fighters on the feet as long as it stays there.

Would be sick if a legit top notch boxer came over to MMA. If Vitali Kiltschko or Wlad worked on other forms of mixed martial arts (specifically kicks/takedown defense), they would wreck a lot of these UFC hype jobs (likely would have a problem with wrestlers though)

He owns any UFC fighter that tries to stand and trade punches, he still gets clownshoed by any decent kickboxer. Would love to just see him get picked apart with leg kicks and so on, since he has a short reach as it is.

Even on the feet he's in trouble. The mere threat of kicks and takedowns will force him to adjust his style and take him out of his comfort zone. If he doesn't adjust and just uses his boxing stance, he'll either get taken down immediately or kicked into oblivion. Given how old he is, I doubt he'll work that hard to make the necessary adjustments. He doesn't stand much of a chance unless he fights a can or an idiot who engages him in a pure boxing match. Dana is probably just using Toney to display the UFC's superiority to boxing, and therefore will give him an intelligent opponent who won't get into a boxing brawl.

Re: EDF MMA March Thread

I don't see any UFC HW kickboxers that'll beat Toney standing up.

I'm interested to see who they give him.

Boxers won't do well. It doesn't transition well into MMA.

This for any boxer that tries MMA. They will be at a disadvantage to a muay thai/kick boxer and a wrestler will destroy them. The only way they can win is if someone is stupid enough to try to box with them.
