Re: EDF MMA/fighting G'Day Hot Chicks Thread
In OOT, there was an "Ask A Tennis Pro" thread where the guy mentioned that Venus and Serena would get steamrolled by any Top 200 man.

She would have a edge yea, but compared to like her edge vs someone with zero grappling experience, its not even comparable.
My friend has like 3 years of boxing experience on and off, I have about 2 ish, on and off. We when spar hes sharper but its not a blow out or anything, I can do pretty good. Now factor in she is a women vs a man who probably has some experience she not going to do much, especially not wreck anyone on the feet.

No, her technique looked awful. It has nothing to do with her opposition.

Venus and Serena got handled by a guy right around the 200 mark. http://observer.guardian.co.uk/osm/s...543962,00.html

Here are some facts:
World 200m women's record - 21.34 by someone who for sure was roiding.
Usain Bolt aged 16 - 20.13s
Bobby Riggs aged 55, beat the current world number one female tennis player 6-2, 6-1. He later lost 6-4 6-3 6-3 to Billie Jean King for a total of 22 games won, 21 games lost.
Men's 69KG Snatch + Clean & Jerk Olympic Record - 357KG
Wmns 69KG Snatch + Clean & Jerk Olympic Record - 286KG

I definitely agree that if a brown belt or D-1 wrestler or w/e has some experience boxing and is somewhat used to punching and being punched then he would be favored.

I was unable to find a good video of her sparring, but you're wrong as far as this discussion goes. Her technique is not great at a professional level but it is far far greater than a dude with no training. She knows how to throw a variety of strikes, how to throw combinations, how to use footwork, how to defend, and how to get punched without panicking.

Re: EDF MMA/fighting G'Day Hot Chicks Thread
Rousey would get ****ed up badly by any anyone who wrestled for 4 years in high school. No matter the weight.

No, no, no, no, no.
And that video only confirmed her rudimentary striking.

Re: EDF MMA/fighting G'Day Hot Chicks Thread
peoples itt are seriously over rating Rousey's ground skill and KO power. Rousey only looked good on the ground because Tate is a super fish off her back (team AlphaMale lolololol). Striking is only a good antidote to grappling if you are a threat with one punch KTFO power.

Her striking is pretty awful if we're putting her in a matchup against a trained male fighter of any kind. In a pure stand up battle, random 135 D1 wrestler vs Rousey, I'd still take the wrestler with no striking training because her defense is awful, he's much faster, much more athletic, and he can hit like 5 times harder than she can. male vs female is generally almost never competitive.
There's a loose theory that the best female athletes in the world at any given sport are roughly as good as the very best ~14-15 year old males. It's purposefully loose, but that should tell you something.
|
very best ~14-15 year old males beat best female athletes evey single time and its not even close. they have no chance. thats also why i dont like to watch any women in sports. 14year old males(not even the best) beat the feamle world champs in soccer 3:0

Re: EDF MMA/fighting G'Day Hot Chicks Thread
Darkone must have some kind of complex developed by his bigger sister beating him up when he was a kid.
The athletic ability between men and women is GIGANTIC. Like ridiculously huge. There is a good reason why there is a huge stigma for a man to hit a woman. It's because it's not a fair fight. Now Ronda could wreck some untrained weak beta's. But any reasonably athletic male who has at least a few years of BJJ is going to be a favorite.
I'd have Ronda making me sammiches in under a minute.

Re: EDF MMA/fighting G'Day Hot Chicks Thread
Anyone in here feel they should be a favorite against her in an openweight mmafight?
I would get my arm broken for sure. My only hope is some wild haymaker before she trips my fatass.
