Hi, I don't know much about fashion(or anything else) but I'd like to look good.
So I put on some weight, slowly shedding the pounds but in the meantime my jeans don't really fit.
I used to be fine in a slim/straight 32 and now I'm more of a relaxed 33 or straight 34 type of guy it seems. I went shopping today and man, Neiman Marcus makes me feel like George Costanza.(I'm 5'11 170lbs with zero muscle mass)
So I bought some stuff and I was wondering if it's going to look silly when/if I get back to my target weight of 15X.
I tried on a bunch of stuff and it's weird because stuff like a 34 the waist is clearly loose and a bit much but it fits perfectly on my thighs and ass. I'm half-Hispanic half-Russian so I guess huge thighs/ass is just inevitable. damn you lucky western euros!
Also is being a 32/30 or I guess a 34/30 standard? This is what made me feel like I'm
really overweight. Everything was crazy long on me. I know that's sort of the look(or at least I got that feeling looking at Acne's website) but I don't really prefer it. I also wear my jeans super-low fwiw, dangerously close to hairlines.
Trying shorts was the same thing, I'm a 34" ass and a 33" waist, no big deal but I have a feeling losing weight is going to be all from that area so I hope these clothes don't look silly on me.
Here's what I ended up with.
Kickass selvedge jeans and a decent dress shirt I picked up. This and the black shoes are fine right? The shirt has french cuffs, am I best off with some black silk-knots?
Sweet Perry Ellis jeans that fit really well.
AG Heros, these fit really well too. The Salesperson at Neiman Marcus was incredibly helpful and I told her my issue and she just said "Oh, relaxed fit" and things started clicking.
More Perry Ellis jeans.
These for the lighter jeans and shorts.
I grabbed these shirts because I thought they looked neat and they're paper thin which should be nice for the heat.
Are these socks too long for shorts? You guys don't really have to like shorts, that's the opinion I got in OOT, it's fine. I live in Arizona, it gets to 110 degrees in the summer, I'm wearing shorts.
Should I switch the shirts around when I wear these shorts? Would I be better off with plain white crewneck t-shirts? I grabbed some of those as well.
I get the feeling I'm going to be humiliated for this post. Oh wellllllllllll!
edit: wow these shirts make me look muscular, I'm buying some more tomorrow.
oh yeah. So I found this jacket in my closet, don't know whose it is. It's mine now.
I've been wearing it because why not, is this acceptable attire or is this now in the vault with cross-colors and Bugle Boy?
