this is notoriously one of the hardest things to do without just going and trying them on

the online guides are worthless as most people usually can't even decide which face shape they have

Homespun, like the one I just listed, or Merz b. Schwanen. Wings & Horns for lighter weight.

Glad you mentioned because I just noticed that they lowered the price on these since my purchase, and since it is still within two weeks I can get an adjustment. Going to save me about a hundy. These are an absolute steal right now at $52.80. Not much left in tailored but still some decent sizes in slim and athletic in five color options.

Thoughts on wearing a Velvet Blazer to a wedding?

I have a Theory Jacket similar to this, only real difference is buttons have velvet on them instead of classic button.

http://www.theory.com/malcolm/G10741...d=mens-blazers

Or is it better to just go classic dark grey suit? Winter wedding.

Thanks!

Say I wanted to put prescription lenses on these:

I was looking at a pair of shades in the Gucci store near Roc Center, but the sales guy said they don't do prescription lenses in house. I guess I'll walk through a bunch of lens places when the weather sucks less and see what they can do (there's Moscot and LensCrafters, plus a bunch of small operations)

Wow, I stole these pants. I asked bonobos for a second adjustment and I think they gave me too much back. Basically, I paid $450 for five pairs of pants and they've given me three credits back totaling $250! So I ended up paying $40 a pair including tax and shipping.

The quality of the customer service at Bonobos makes up for the annoyance of the content. Here's an actual email:

Ninja Coco on the line! Hope your week is off to a stellar start!
I’ve got good news, friend. I’ve just gone in and sent you an additional refund of both the price drop and another 10% discount making it 40%! Woot! So you should see two refunds, one for $55.68 and the other for $130.50 for a grand total of $186.18! Holy Moly that’s a lot of last minute savings! Yeesh!
If you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to reach out. Us Ninjas are here for YOU!

Second this. I've shopped with them a lot over the past couple of years, preferring guideshops (and I've been to their store a couple times) and their customer service has always been amazing all around.

Been looking to upgrade my wardrobe via Bonobos from recommendations ITT, but anyone hear wear any of their XXL shirts? Are they too boxy/baggy? I'm a 17.5' neck and 48' for blazers, so I fear they either will be too boxy, or more likely, too tight.

First you have to decide if you're good with seconds or want firsts. Seconds usually have an inconsequential imperfection that you won't really notice, certainly not after they are worn in. You just missed a seconds sale in January, where I believe the Strands were down to $199. But there are sales every couple months. I know there is always a Memorial Day seconds sale if there's not something sooner.

Not sure if anyone here knows Yoox. I found some Kiton ls T shirts really cheap on there recently. I've also had success finding Giorgio Armani on ebay with a lot of fakes mixed in.

edit- if people are posting deals, check out Sierra Trading Post for Hanwag boots and vibram sole sneakers right now

Loving this Epaulet sweater collaboration with William Locke of Scotland. Still available in 3 sizes around small to medium for $175. Could see it getting marked down a little lower since end-of-season sale has passed. I got the tag 38 and find the size perfect for my thin frame with small arms. Love the midnight sky look of the sweater. It's light enough to wear in Los Angeles but has a full, sturdy weave. There's no spots where you can look right through the sweater like a light one from J.Crew. The wool has a nice feel, only slightly soft but not at all itchy.

Is there any brands that are higher end that carry larger sizes? It's such a pain for me. I'm usually XL or XXL and everything I love, what's left is S or M

Excellent. Thanks for the info. Continuing on with the topic of shoes a ton of pop up adds I'm getting across internet sites are "Thursday Boot Company." I searched and found a post from a little over a year ago referencing a subreddit stating they used subpar quality leather but was wondering if they may have changed some things regarding their product.

I've also been checking out Johnston and Murphy as a substitute until allen edmonds go back on sale. I basically just need something to hold me over until then. Any info on either of these brands? Thanks in advance.

depends on what you're looking for. Keep in mind that a lot of styles that look good on lanky beanpole types don't look good on us beefy all-american adonis types. But yeah, a lot of small-scale boutique type labels consider anyone who wears like a size 40 jacket to be XXXL.

I would think some brand would have gone hard into that market already. Just tough

Another consideration for Strands is that Allen Edmonds makes Strands for Brooks Brothers that are identical except for the soles. The outer sole is a rubber-leather combo rather than all leather, and a poron cushion is added in the footbed. I find the BB Strand to be more comfortable, and the price will come down lower to $150 in the AE seconds sales. AE will recraft them the same as usual.

AE seconds sale just started fwiw

Strands are $229

I assume the 2x seconds for $250 is no more? Looking through the current seconds sale, I can't believe I got a pair of long branches + strands for $250 a couple years ago, and they are my most worn shoes.

Long branch seconds alone are currently $289.
