Re: EDF Fashion (and Fashion Deals) Thread

Hey guys I know nothing about buying a suitable cologne/perfume thing. How do I go about choosing one which is suitable for my style? Do men and women prefer different kinds of smells?

The basenotes forum is a great resource for cologne. Creed is a very well regarded brand with a wide range of scents. It would be best if you can find somewhere to sample a bunch on paper strips and then test on your skin your favorites (skin chemistry can alter how they smell). I guess only you know "your style", so trying a range of different ones until you find the one that fits it is probably best, but if in doubt, take a trusted female acquaintance along with you.

Either basenotes or a similar website offers the mini-vials that you can order a bunch of for not too much money. But ime, Yves Saint Laurent La Nuit de L'Homme and M7 make the wimminz go cray cray.

Hands down GIT over aventus. They don't compare imo. Vetiver is also worth a shot. GIT is great for everyday use and Tabarome for formal/work environments. Obv this all depends on the individual though, get a sample pack off eBay.

Hey guys,

Pretty clueless on shoes. Been reading up this thread and reddit for some advice. Can you guys recommend a pair of brown AEs that I can wear to work and with a nice pair of jeans? A particular shade as well? Thanks

My favorite price : quality shirts -- fit is great.

Re: EDF Fashion (and Fashion Deals) Thread

In the process of overhauling wardrobe - can anyone recommend a few decent pairs of jeans?

Fwiw, I'm mid-twenties, 6'1" 170, in shape but thin. Looking for something in between cheap and breaking the bank.

Also consider a quality soap.

I can recall several women that have put their head in my chest and just smelled me when I had no cologne on but only used a a nice smelling soap. A fresh nice smelling soap can go a long way. And depending on your job, cologne at work might not go over so well. But you obviously bathe before work. So before you just buy any old soap thats on sale, think twice. And like some one else mentioned, you can't go wrong getting a females opinion.

Your list should start and end with Walnut Strands.

+1000. I almost never wear cologne but a few weeks ago I bought some higher quality soap and fell in love (Lush is the brand, they have a ton of different soaps). I've been complimented ~10 times since then on how good I smell.

the left hand shoe is not a strand, the strand is cap-toed, not wing-tipped. I think those may be the MacAllister.

But walnut strands are a great recommendation!
