I came across these cuff links and thought of this thread. What about these with jeans?

Thanks gaiz. I have little in the way of "streetware" or atleast the variant my half-azn self can pull off. I'm super noob at this part of fashion and usually pull on a half decade old tshirt and jeans then hit the door. Tshirts seem to be the lacking aspect in my otherwise cool errand running garb.

There's a t-shirt thread somewhere on EDF if you search.

I feel like I am the only one who never wears T-Shirts. I have workout/active gear, but will literally throw a polo on with althletic shorts to walk down to the corner store rather than all these graphic tee's that were super popular. I can't imagine wearing a T-Shirt out in NYC ever on the weekends and pretty much only throw on button downs. Then again I am not really "stylish", so I am probably one of the few who never got into these.

re: hipster-dipster t-shirts...when I was at the WSOP this year I thought about actually taking photos of all the guys wearing Ed Hardy t-shirts and other gear and calling it, "Douchebags of the WSOP."

Yeah I actually don't wear one regularly, typically only throw a college one on when going to gym in winter. I think the hoodie and t-shirt look's were more West Coast and considering I group up in TX, went to school in CT, and live in NYC never ended up getting into the "style".

I need a new suit, probably gray. I don't want to spend a ton but also want a decent one. Where should I be looking?

I got my shirts from Geneva a week or so ago. A few notes about them. Very neat machine sitching. Unfused cuffs and collar. High armholes. Nice but not great mop buttons.

I'm very happy with them. For the first time I have shirts that fit well everywhere. The key for me isn't so much how they look, though I believe they do look better than my other shirts, but how they feel. To me that's the major difference.

Not the most exciting shirts, but should serve me well.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a winter jacket? I would like to wear it to work (business casual - khakis and dress shirt typically) and also out at night. What are your thoughts on this Barbour?

I like 3/4 length jackets for that scenario

I have a dark grey wool coat from banana that looks fine with jeans, khakis, or even a suit if need be.

it's summer now though so I can't find it on the site

I see people wear jackets like this to work, but personally I think it is too informal. I have a Brooks coat thought that fits this purpose that I absolutely love. Can't find it on their website so maybe they don't sell it anymore, but it is a 3/4 length overcoat made of grey tweed fabric. It has this great zip in line that stick out of the collar for a solid look. Wish I could find a picture to explain, but can't seem to.

I like plain v-neck tees. Even though I see ppl hate on V necks sometimes.

I mostly wear the plain BDG brand from Urban Outfitters that they always have on sale at this store around me for 6 dollars. I like the way they fit and feel.

I hate graphic tees.

Hey guys, need some help here!!

I go to school in San Diego, I'm 20. I go out a lot to parties, clubs, restaurants and such.

I have nice jeans, button up/collared shirts.

I'm looking for a blazer/suit coat to wear when I go out that I wear on many occasions for different things. I'm not really looking to spend over like $500.

Any suggestions on brands or styles?

I am a huge fan of J. Press blazers, but not sure you can buy them on the West Coast. Additionally, I think the classic Navy blazer with brass buttons may not be an "in" look on the West Coast.

The reason I like the J. Press blazer beside the cut and style is that the Navy is very blue rather than close to black. I also replaced the button with some nicer silver and brass buttons.

Regardless of choice I would definitely get a Navy blue jacket. You could even get a blazer and just throw navy buttons on it if that is more the look you are going for.

What's the best way to bring a suit on an airplane? I'd rather not spend $100 on a good suit carrier. Is there a practical way to pack into luggage? I'll also have 2 days at my destination before I need to wear it - would I be better off just throwing it into luggage and then have it dry cleaned once I'm there?

Don't get your suit dry cleaned. Just have it pressed.

If it comes out the suitcase looking half decent, throw it in the bathroom and take a hot shower.

For the NYC crowd.

Nom De Guerre is at 70% store-wide. Impulse bought a tee & cardigan there today.

Opening Ceremony is 70% as well.

If you take one of the arms, turn it inside out and fold it, you can do alright. IF you google how to pack a suit there should be more detailed instructions, but I have found if you don't pack it too tight and at worst hang it in bathroom while in shower and it should be fine.

Can anybody suggest some swell eyeglasses, whether it is a specific pair of frames or a classic style? I'm getting new frames next week and I'm going to a optometrists office that has a pretty good selection of designer frames and right now I'm thinking I'll get these unless they look stupid on my face...

I wouldn't set your mind on any individual pair until you try them on. I would also suggest trying on a ton and really taking your time with this. The pair I ended up with is probably 2-3x better than the second best one I could find.

This store likely carries a lot of models you probably haven't even considered yet. Don't be afraid to get a distinct pair if it works well for your face. I would start outside the box and get more conservative as you work your way through the available pairs.
