Indeed. And this documentary showed how much rage/bitterness there was on one side of the argument.

So many good ones. I like Fernando mania but I was growing up in LA during that time so a little bias.

Icarus

Bryan Fogel, an amateur competetive cyclist decides to use all the PEDs he can to see how much it would affect his performance, and to see if he could get away with it in competition. He enlists the help of Grigory Rodchenkov, director of a Moscow laboratory called the Anti-Doping Centre, which was the lab used to test all the athletes at the Sochi olympics. Rodchenkov explains to Fogel the techniques he's used to help Russian athletes get away with doping for decades. While they're working together, Rodchenkov suddenly finds himself at the center of the biggest international doping scandal in sports history.

5/5, must see.

Cries from Syria

About the Syrian war from the perspective of civilians.

Pretty decent and in depth, disturbing in parts. It covers from the Arab spring to Russia's devastating involvement. Available on Netflix.

The Keepers

Possibly the most disturbing doc I've ever seen.

**** the Catholic church.

Biggie: The Life Of Notorious B.I.G.

I'm not really into rap, and I'm sure I would've liked it more if I was. It was still mildly interesting.

Tour De Pharmacy

Not sure if mockumentaries are allowed in this thread, but this is one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. It's about the 1982 Tour De France and every rider is on tons of drugs and ****. Great cast including Andy Samberg, Mike Tyson, Jeff Goldbloom, Dolph Lundgren, Maya Rudolph, Lance Armstrong, Kevin Bacon.

Tickled

This was discussed itt when it came out last year, but I didn't get around to watching it until now. It's an investigation of homoerotic tickling videos and who is making/funding them. Turns out the main person behind the tickling video industry is quite possibly the most sad and pathetic person on earth.

It's a follow up from the guys that made 7 days in Hell. 7DiH is easily worth a watch.

Lance Armstrong's Kevin Bacon number is now 1. Could easily go down as his greatest achievement.

Watched episode 1 of Ken Burns' Vietnam doc today. Will watch the rest this week as they air. I am very not knowledgeable about the war so this has been super informative and as always with Burns very good.

Nobody Speak: Hulk Hogan, Gawker and Trials of a Free Press

This was a pretty interesting watch and made me rethink my position. When this all happened I thought gawker were scum and deserved what they got. Now it's pretty clear they were scum who got far more than they deserved at the hands of the 1% of the 1%.

Yet another front on which American democracy is under attack by the right and the rich.

American Anarchist

This is about William Powell, author of The Anarchist Cookbook. You would think this would be a slam dunk subject for a great documentary, but the filmmaker managed to **** it up imo.

Powell seems like a very thoughtful and compassionate person who has some good insights into how and why young males can get full of rage and do commit senseless violence. Unfortunately, the interiewer missed most of this and wanted to keep asking him dumb leading questions to try to get him to admit guilt for things he's clearly not guilty of. Powell deserved quite a lot of credit just for participating in this.

I don't even watch sports on TV and I found 30 for 30 amazing. There are so many good ones I can't pick a favourite.
