Not sure we are supposed to talk about politard docs in here ,but I thought the HBO Vice doc A House Divided was pretty good. I mean, at least you can ignore whatever Vice commentary you don't agree with, and you get to hear directly from a few members of Congress and Obama.

Yep just watched this. Quite well done I thought. Luntz is insufferable but had some good insights. Boehner was surprisingly interesting. Country seems effed at this point.

Agree that 'Sour Grapes' on Netflix is great.

Just here to give a +1 on Finders Keepers. If ever a story cried out for a "strange but true" style documentary, it's this one.

Gringo: The Dangerous Life Of John Mcafee

We've all heard the vaguely crazy story of antivirus software pioneer John Mcafee. This doc investigates what Mcafee's lifestyle in Belize was actually like. He had a team of heavily armed security guards with him 24/7. He gave massive bribes to local law enforcement. He had dozens of hookers. He had a lab to do research for some kind of antibiotics, and allegedly drugged and raped the scientist he hired to run it. He had at least 2 people murdered. Then because lol-3rd-world-policeaments he never got caught doing anything illegal except having an unlicensed firearm. So he goes back to the US and runs for president, naturally.

5/5, this is a must see.

Doc on Netfilx about AAU basketball. Pretty interesting. I didn't realize how much of a role AAU plays when it comes to kids getting to the next level

Becoming Warren Buffet

New documentary on HBO about Warren Buffett. Definitely worth seeing.

Nowhere are there in-depth discussions about balance sheets and cash flow, though there are flashy animations illustrating basic investing principles. Instead, the film focuses on how Warren Edward Buffett grew from the Nebraskan son of a congressman to become the Oracle of Omaha, the avuncular mascot of American capitalism who built Berkshire Hathaway into a $406 billion empire, and shows some of his warts along the way.

Bump just to remind everyone to watch this video, and also the Dancing Outlaw if you can find it. Jesco is the guy in my avatar. My brother called Jesco after we watched Dancing Outlaw. He ended up talking to him a couple of times. Eventually Jesco asked for my brother's phone number. That was the end of that.

Saving Banksy
Follows an art collector's attempt to 'rescue' a piece by Banksy from a wall to it get it into a museum, and more broadly looks at the ethical issues surrounding the movement/sale/etc. of street art.

Nowhere near as entertaining as Exit Through the Gift Shop, but raises some interesting questions, and is worth a watch if you're a fan of the graffiti scene.

It was really well constructed, the delivery was quality in many regards, can't recommend it highly enough.

The C Word is a must watch. Very eye-opening. Makes me loathe the powers that be even more.

I'm finally watching Grizzly Man. About 30 minutes in a local Native American curator of a museum says: "bottom line, I think he hurt the bears more than he helped because once they became acclimated to him they think all humans are safe." I feel like the documentary could have ended there. Delusional man hurts the bears he's trying to help and eventually dies.

What else is there to say?

Yeah, I also thought it would've worked better if it was shorter.

Just saw this, it's interesting. Definitely confirms my theory that people who approach life with an "us vs them" mentality are setting themselves up for a life of rage and bitterness.
