I'm going to the Tasting Counter in Somerville tonight. I'd better be blown away by the experience. Anyway, I'll post a review here.

On the roast beef topic, Kelly's in Revere was supposed to be the best. I used to like Buzzy's at the Charles St. T station after a night of drinking.

I did tasting counter on New years eve and it was incredible. It's expensive but not nearly as expensive as it could be given what it is.

Kelly's is not the best. Nicks in N. Beverly is best and Bill & Bobs in Peabody is significantly better than Kelly's, too. There are tons of great roast beef places north of Boston. Kelly's is ok. At best.

Jim's Deli for brunch (if you're looking for an amazing but casual hangover type breakfast).

Ice cream... 1) Toscaninis 2) Picco 3) Fomu 4) Christina's... Depends where you are.

Fomu is made with coconut "milk" it isn't ice cream.

True, and tbh some of their ice cream isn't great, but some is. I actually ended up at Picco on Saturday, pretty confident it's the best ice cream in the area.

Haven't been there yet. Big fan of Rancatores in Newton. To be great you need to be making your whipped cream from scratch, no spray can crap.
