My old $100 chair got so bad that I was in desperate need of a new chair.
I was planning on spending up to $600 but there are no stores I could find within a 30min drive that sold designer chairs. I figured I may end up buying a used Aeron or something but a few poker friends told me to avoid getting a chair without sitting in it first so I figured I'd just check and see what the Office Depot down the street from me had.
I sat in the
Realspace Pro Quantum for ~15mins while reading some reviews on my phone. It felt comfy and the reviews seemed mostly good.
I decided to buy it, I think it was $280 after tax? something like that. There is a 14-day return policy so I figure it's best to use it for a few days and see if I still like it.
It looks like in 2009 there was a big recall on these because the joint between the top and bottom of the chair would snap in half (cheap bolts) but it looks like they fixed that.
I've been sitting in it now for a few hours. Still feels pretty comfortable - much better than what I was using before but I really wish I had ever sat in a top designer chair to have something to compair it to.
Arms swivel in and out, and adjust up and down.
the back of the seat can be lifted up or put down to have the lumbar thing fit you.
seat bottom moves forward and backward (away from the back) and it has lean and lock settings.
I was prepared to just return this in a day or two but I think I may keep it for now and wait a few months to buy a $1k+ chair when I'm ready and give this one to one of my poker friends.
Have any of you sat in this or have any opinions?
