I'm in depending on when y'all decide to do it; going to Europe for 10 days, leaving tomorrow, but if it's afterwards, in.

How about Saturday, October 10th? Obviously I'm a Husker fan(atic). Nebraska plays Missouri on Thursday that week so my Saturday is free. WEC 43 (Cerrone v. Henderson) will be airing live at 9 pm so I would just want to get home in time to watch that.

Or we could do just about any Friday.

would prefer a friday as I normally get off of work at 7:15ish in highland park and would want to watch WEC also, unless there is a WEC watching afterwards, which then I'm down and could try to see if I can switch shifts with one of my co-workers

Any interest in a get together around Thanksgiving? I'll be flying in from DC and would love to check out Peaquod's.

Okay it sounds like Saturday, October 10th will work for almost everyone.

Who: 2+2 Chicagoans
What: Orgy in our Mouths
Where: Pequod's (2207 N. Clybourn Ave)
When: 10-10-09 at 7 pm
Why: Dumb question
How: What?

Please "RSVP" in this thread. I hope we get 5-10 people. I'd feel weird sitting there with one other dude.

Man, I wish I could make it, but I'm going to be in NYC that weekend.

Sounds sweet is it okay if I bring my gf (she's not a 2p2er). My gf just moved to Chicago to live with me and she doesn't know many people so I was wondering if you guys could recommend some places/activities where she could meet some people. She's 22 and graduated Emerson College with an interest in copy editing (she loves language).

Depending on what she's interested in, she could become a member of one or more of the various museums in town. They have lots of members only and behind the scenes events, lots of times with drinks and entertainment, where it's real easy to get to know people.

There are various sports leagues to join. Or take lessons like scuba diving etc.

She could further her studies or audit some classes at one of the many local colleges.

I've gotta see how some flag football plan pan out, but I should be a go for the 10th. I'll give a firm RSVP later in early in the week.

They're all bunched together. It's pretty much the same crowd at all of the bars and restaurants.

Plus it's more rich old guys looking for young gold diggers, than the other way around.

The best tailor I've ever been to was in Lincoln Park. I can't remember his name, but he was right on Lincoln Ave. south of Wrightwood (across from the Hoagie Hut). I haven't been there in about 5-6 years ago. He was an old school eastern European guy. He would actually take my suits apart at the seams and recut them. It cost about $100-$120 per suit. He did tailoring for some newcasters (i.e. Warren Saunders). Now I go to Nordstrom Rack on State St. They will do suits that you don't buy from them, but they will charge you a little more.

Recently moved back to Texas from Chicago, and I'm going through an agonizing Hopleaf withdrawal. Just go there, you can thank me later. Make sure to get their Stilton mac & cheese appetizer to snack on with your beer; might just be the best mac & cheese I've ever had.

And for dinner beforehand, you HAVE to try Reza's, which is only like 1-2 blocks north of Hopleaf on Clark. Order the grilled mushrooms. In fact, you should get at least 5 orders of them. I don't really like mushrooms very much, but HOLY **** they are amazing. And obviously their entrees are phenomenal too.

I miss so many things about Chicago already

Reza's? Meh IMO. Decent Persian food, but not something I would single out as superlative.

agreed. I don't go out of my way for it, but if I'm taking a trip to hopleaf, then I'll hit it up if I'm in the mood

but, if we're talking middle eastern food, then semiramas is what you need to go out of your way for
