Re: Chicago: Your favorite things to do or places to go

Not any locations as good as the Wilmette one for Chicago access, but Egg Harbor is also v good for breakfast/brunch. I think I actually like it slightly more for cleanliness/eggs/potatoes, but find that their pancakes are a little weaker. Also not sure if they do some of the WB specialties like german and apple things.

just tried Pequod's. large pan pizza with sausage, onions, green peppers. Came out to be like $27. Kinda pricey but worth it. Best pan pizza I've had.

Definitely check out Craigslist. There are tons of listings there. I've gotten both of my places I've lived thru Craigslist w/o problems.

I'm in RE so can speak from experience

You might be looking at renting a SFH but if you're going with 4beds you should be able to find 1 floor in a 3 or 4 flat. Craigslist is always the best place to start. If you don't have any luck there, you can always try using a locator but know that you'll be paying their commission in the form of built-in increased rent.

Man I suck. Didn't click to hold a table for 10 minutes while getting in touch with my family to see if they'd like to go. Then when I got the OK, they were obviously sold out for (that day and) everything else. Oh well, will have to think of someplace else to send them at some point.

Going to the Vic tonight to see Anthony Jeselnik, anyone recommend a good place to eat near there? Im a south sider, considering Kumas (one of my favs), but not sure my wife will like it.

Just go to DMK Burger Bar if you want burgers. It's very close to the Vic, cheap, good and much quicker than a Saturday evening at Kuma's.

Another option is Tango Sur (put your name in way early though or don't bother).

I would just find a place where you can sit outside though. We're having some bomb ass weather today.

Re: Chicago: Your favorite things to do or places to go

Thanks guys, ended up just going to Kuma's. We walked in at about 6:45 and were seated within 15 mins. The key is party of 2 I guess! I will def look into DMk and Tango Sur next time though.

Did the 5-course menu at Topolobampo on Saturday. Truly excellent.
