Drunk posting is bad.

I tried Batch001 - light but good. I thought the American Pale Ale was surprisingly good. Wheat IPA also solid and different.

Looking forward to the food as well. Also $6 growlers on Saturdays isn't too bad.

It's definitely a better beer debut than haymarket and atlas. Their prices are tons better than rev and half acre as well. It'll be interesting to see where they are in about 18 months when things are dialed in more. It's a really good start and there's a lot to be excited about.

Def my fav. Only reason to go out there is when I visit my mom in Oak Park, though. So boring out there.

Was there. So glad they were basically fully unlimited and no tickets or restrictions. Pretty solid event overall, line to get in was like a mile long but was super easy to sneak through.

Johnny's is the nuts.

Game 5 SRO currently about $500. Yikes.

Best place to watch the game tonight? Want somewhere which will have street parties if the Hawks win.

haymarket or beer bistro in the west loop should be a blast if the hawks win

Can anyone recommend a place to get discounted musical show tickets? Specifically I am looking for 2 tickets to see The Book of Mormon on or around July 3rd.

I basically have 0 knowledge about Broadway shows and seating costs. If anyone can help out it would be much appreciated.

If she's agreed to go on a date with you even though she's leaving town next week then she clearly wants the D. Choose somewhere near yours with booze. Where do you live?

Could fit a show at IO in. Gets some drinks and laughs in. Then go to a bar then back to yours.

Solid idea. Second city >>> IO but IO is better location for you.

Second City's shows last too long, IO you can get a quick 45 minute long form in and then move on.

One week in, strongest meals so far

Xoco - meal in a bowl soup: Slow-cooked gunthorp pork carnitas, potato-masa dumplings, chayote, roasted serrano chile, greens, arugula, avocado. Since pho seems kinda weak in the city, this is my pho replacement. It is delightful.

Pour house - this is gonna sound weird but my strongest meal so far was at this sportsbar, the pork belly with over easy egg, toast, and blueberry jam spread. The jam and toast was w/e but when you eat the egg and pork belly together it's awesomeeeeee.

If you are a pork belly fan then go to the Pork Shoppe @ Elston/California/Belmont.
Pork belly pastrami. Sandwich. Hot.
Phenomenal.

Not the answer you want, but the best option is to just use StubHub. BoM tickets are hot in Chicago, and they sell out a good percentage of the shows.

The only other option is to go to the ticket office day-of and fill out this raffle card. Two hours before each show, they raffle off discounted tickets for (iirc) $25/ea. You have to be present at the drawing and have cash to pay for it w/ valid ID. Obviously, there is some inconvenience that goes with the chance to win the privilege of buying discounted tickets, so I'm not sure if it's worth it for you.

I've been to a dozen musicals in the Chicago-area and have never encountered such demand for a show's tickets. I live a few blocks from the theater and haven't found a good alternative :/

I have eaten at Kuma's Corner once, but this was before I ate hamburgers so I had a plain chicken sandwich which I thought was solid but didn't think the pretzel bun worked that well.

I'm planning to try the new location next month. I now eat hamburgers, but don't eat bacon or cheese (or any condiments) on them (these may be heavy leaks). My favorite is just burger + standard vegetables. Never tried an egg.

Any suggestions? Kuma Burger minus cheese and bacon? Egg y/n?

Is the new location the same product as the old one? Are there better burger places I should have instead in Chicago?

I can't allow myself to recommend a burger to you given those limitations. It just wouldn't be right lol

Yes, the new location has the exact same menu. No, there are not better burgers. There are only different burgers.

I'm going tomorrow actually and I intend to order the burger of the month: 10 oz patty, housemade jerk sauce, cheddar cheese, capicola and plantain hash, and beer battered deep fried avocado

My favorite Kuma's burger of all time is the Megadeth. I don't think it's on the menu at the moment however.

chisness,

I can understand no cheese or bacon (kosher, no?), but cannot understand no condiments given willingness to eat veggies. FWIW, my favorite burger at Kuma's (have not eaten my way through whole menu) remains the High on Fire. I honestly don't think it would lose much by ditching the pork. Would leave you with siracha hot chili sauce, roasted red pepper, grilled pineapple, sweet chili paste. Who wouldn't want that on a burger?

Seriously though, I would recommend trying something with condiments/toppings even if no cheese or pork. If not, and you have to go to Kuma's, get an egg on your burger, it's good ****.

Thanks. I should have clarified that I'm willing to try condiments just never have. I've been eating plain burgers (not super regularly) for almost 3 years now so I guess it's time to get wild.

Might consider the line of getting 1 v plain and 1 experimental with sauces and such.
