Re: On Changing your Life
Someone linked this thread in mttc yesterday. I was instantly hooked after reading OP. I read up until part 4 or 5, then bookmarked it so I could finish.
I just finished reading the rest. The whole time I kept thinking, just go to last page and see if the book is out yet you jackass and buy it already.
At first I was a little disappointed that its not out yet. At least I know that I'll be one of the first to buy a copy and get one of those signed limited editions now!
adsman, I'm now one of the many eagerly awaiting for this book good sir!

Considering this, lately a lot of authors are releasing their own ebooks from their own personal websites. Anyone who is interested can go online and purchase the ebook... You could consider this if there is too much hassle in actually getting published.

I think OP is good enough and hardworking enough to get it published.
This thread was one of my early motivations to make big changes in my life, thanks Adsman.

Re: On Changing your Life
Adsman, you changed my life....
I spent 6 years at university studying finance and other post graduate degrees. My goal after was to make money, buy a house, find a girl, get promoted etc
Six years later I'm stuck in a small apartment in Sydney working as a business analyst for a big bank. Good job, however I was never really happy, my week consisted of working then going home to a TV screen, then grinding poker on the weekend.
My sister had always been a big traveler and I didn't quite understand it. What could be so good about making next to no money and having to speak to complete strangers all day?
Then I came across this thread and saw the movie "Into the wild"...........It kind of changed my mindset and made me realise that there is more to life than money. The original goal was to move to a quieter town where I could enjoy my old hobby of surfing. After looking for a place to rent with little success my mate and I decided to go to a local music gig and had quite a few beers. Discussions came up about driving around Australia, not sure how but when we woke up the next day we were both still keen. Three weeks later we began the trip of my life.
Didn't have the best car but it did the job, had a towbar put on for the trailer and roof racks for our surfboards. And off we went, had some really fun waves for the first 2 months, problem was though we were only staying at each each location for a couple of days before driving off for another few 100 kilometers. Hard to meet people that way

I'm a bit of an internet recluse at the moment due to work load from new job and the book. Missed your question, thanks to entertainme for bumping.

Thought you quit the job to focus on the book?

Re: On Changing your Life
Bump after finding this for the first time - very addictive, entertaining, and fire-you-up reading.
Hope the work on the book is coming along still - however perfect/imperfect the result is, may the process live up to this thread.

Great thread! Excellent read. You seem to like your Acids, which are your favourite ones? Thinking about venturing out into the world of infused sticks

Re: On Changing your Life
I spent the last half hour trying to find this thread. Haven't been on 2p2 in ages (sorta quit poker) but reading a book called "Born to Run" for some reason reminded me of this and I was really hoping a book would be out by now.
Best thread and TR in my years on 2p2 for sure.
