So, I've been playing the piano for 8½ years now, I guess, and recently I've been putting some stuff on YouTube of me playing. I decided to share it with you guys.

This is my newest cover, recorded today.

And here are a few older ones.

If you like it, check out my YouTube channel. Also, feel free to comment or ask anything related to my playing or music itself (always up for a good conversation about that one). All requests will also be taken into consideration.

Sounds good man. I'm a professional jazz musician and piano teacher and I really like your use of dynamics within your phrases and like your control over the instrument in balancing the different melodic and accompanying voices. One thought I had is that you might want to try experimenting with using less sustain pedal, as this can open up new rhythmic possibilities and new textures.

Some good stuff man...I've been playing for almost a year and this is good stuff. I just gotta keep working on my reading (i'm all self taught) so its slowly coming but is always getting better.

There was a piano-request thread a while ago (not sure if it was in OOT or The Lounge) where I requested a piano version of Morbid Angel's "God of Emptiness" but that person never got around to it.

I'm curious to see what you could do with it. Although it's death metal I think the song lends itself well to piano interpretation due to it's slow tempo and clear melodies. Hope you give it a shot

I'm glad you think so

edit: still, you might give the song a try even if death metal is not your thing. The song is all about the riffs and not so much the singing (which what most people have problems with) and there are some excellent parts in the song.

2 years ago I bought a piano on Craigslist for $1700. I had it moved and tuned and the tuner went absolutely nuts over this piano. He traced the manufacturer and serial number and found out it was over 100 years old. It is really beautiful and in perfect condition. It is an upright. He said the finish alone was worth $3000. I am thinking of getting a cover for it.

Like Paramore a lot also, most of their songs are just so hard to interpret on the piano, as they're fast and filled with energy. Hard to come up with a working accompanment. Been playing around with Hallelujah, and it seems to work pretty well. Maybe I'll try to make a version out of it.

I'll have to check it out as I can't it in my head at the moment, but I'll try to remember to come back here to tell. Depends on how much I enjoy the song, if I find sheets/tabs/chords and whether I think I can translate it on the piano well.
