Best Man + Groomsman gift ideas Best Man + Groomsman gift ideas

I need them. A flask is out because I think that's lame. I'd like to come up with something unusual but who knows.

The group is kind of like me, some more nerdy than others. They all like science, drinking, reading, some 2 (of 4) are gamers, they all like sports to some degree. All pretty left politically except one who's fairly right. One is a marine, one is rich the others are varying degrees of middle. I'm not averse to giving them all different gifts either.

i just got engaged in the last week, and we'll be having our wedding at the beach, about 750 miles away...

fwiw, whoever comes, i'm leaning towards jet-skiing/bottles of liquor (???) right now, but i haven't thought about that too much...

actually, good question, seeing how i'm going to have to do this next year, i'd like to hear suggestions too..

last year, i was my brother's best man, and he got me an awesome humidor + 2 expensive cutters..

I gave mine engraved money clips because it's something they can use every day.

I've found that these things tend to be weighted towards the overly masculine, and the alcohol/tobacco realm in particular. High-end stuff -- humidors, crystal whiskey tumblers, expensive-ish wallets. Usually with stuff to go with them, like cigars, whiskey, etc. To be honest though, I wouldn't care if the groom didn't give gifts. We're dudes, we're just happy to be there to hit on the bridesmaids.

Make sure you throwup at your bachelor party, otherwise is bad form.

Good point. OP, buy them all a purse.

I just got a leather toiletries bag from a wedding I was in. It was made by fossil and pretty much rocks.

Start off by paying for their tuxes.

I paid for all the tuxes and my wife bought all the guys (me included) cuff links engraved w/ our initials.

Coach, preferably.

My default wedding gift is 2 bottles of Dom P, with a card that says something like "drink one on your honeymoon, but save the next one to drink on your anniversary to bring back memories and remind each other of love blah blah blah blah..."

It's always been a big winner.

EDIT: Oops, didn't read the subject right. If you're cool with spending $130 per man I think the new Jawbone blue tooth headsets are really nice and pretty much any guy would use and appreciate one. Link:

Cufflinks engraved with their initials that they can wear with Tux works well.

i got a set of poker shot glasses, which i dont' think i've removed from the box.

i also got a small swiss army knife which i've had for over 10 years. at first i thought it was kind of a lame gift but i use it all the time.

Do your friends not like you or was it a low-budget wedding? Ouch.

I gave my groomsmen Leatherman tools and everybody was stoked. I also prohibited tuxes and just asked for dark suits, which everyone appreciated. The best groomsman's gift I got was a sweet LED flashlight, the worst was a set of camping chairs that were like 50 lbs that I had to haul back to LA from Chicago.

I got everyone a few things but all of the groomsmen liked this the best since it was something they would actually use.

At the only wedding I was in I got somw kind of big silver bracelet with a few tiny diamonds in it. Not what I will do at mine.

I had a friend that did that share of stock thing. So we all got one share of Playboy stock with the certificate in a frame. Was original, and I still have it.

A good friend of mine who got married 2 years ago got his groomsmen axes. I was like, whaaaaat, but then when I saw them I realized how cool it was. They were like 2 feet long, heavy wooden handle, and had each groomsman's name engraved in it. A completely worthless gift -- I mean who the hell needs an axe? But it was pretty awesome to see a bunch of guys walking out of the rehearsal dinner (that's where the groom handed them out) carrying axes with their names on them.

When my sister got married, her husband bought us beer steins that had our first names engraved into them. I thought it was pretty cool, although I've never used mine in 3 years because I don't drink that much and it's too nice to have it end up broken.

On the other hand, my friend just got married and gave his side $50 gift cards to Best Buy, which I thought was completely ******ed and showing a lack of appreciation and care and only greed on his part.

My suggestion is to find something they can either display or use everyday. Don't go with a gift card and don't go with something that can be consumed. Also, whatever it is that you decide to do, make it personalized to each person.

Edit: If you want me to, when I get home today I will take a picture of the beer stein so you can see what it looks like.

My best friend was married in October and I he gave his groomsmen a set of 3 throwing knives with a nylon sheath. I also got an assortment of cigars. I was happy with it.

We booked a block in a hotel, paid for all out-of-town guests, tuxes, and bridesmaid dresses. My wife did custom gifts, and I got my guys Zen V mp3 players.
