I guess it's Spring. Doesn't feel like it. I don't mean just the weather.

Spring is for renewal. I renew my unmitigated hatred for most of humanity, the earth, the galaxy, and the meaningless universe and pray for its destruction as soon as possible. But first, I need to get all my savings out and spend them on women and whiskey.

Ukridge rules the Universe! When you finally accept this simple fact; all is explained. And you can live in peace.

I’m a Zombie; are you a Zombie too?!

It’s the time of the season.

Max Headroom is back and bigger than ever!

He is even rumored to be up for the next Pope!

Not only does this sound like a plan, it sounds like a *GOOD* plan.

Happy spring!

Ghostship pale ale is the Bees Knees. Only available in Limey Land I believe, at least on tap.

I sucked down a lot the last time I was in London Town. I miss London; it is so much fun to abuse the locals and pay outrageous prices for simple stuff like beers and chips.

I would love to hire some Germans to start bombing the place back to the Stone Age. Of course, parts of London are still in the Stone Age. Lastcard can verify that with ease.

I'm going to Norfolk next week for a Spring Break, including a trip to Kessingland, which is not far from the Adnams brewery (makers of Ghost Ship). It was a childhood holiday destination, to which I have not been since, and which I am expecting to find trapped within a deep time-warp. Looking forward to it.

Is it my imagination or is Zeno becoming more cantankerous and misanthropic?

Spring has sprung but nobody told the weather yet as it sucks here. First week of spring I always flip my mattress (do this every equinox) then on the first Friday I watch a special double feature to get me in the springtime mood. Where the Boys Are and Spring Break. Love these two and hopefully they will get me into a springtime mood which the weather hasn't yet. Just made some nachos and plan to suck back a few cold ones and hopefully not pass out before the second movie is over

do the nachos include beans, or no?
i'd like to hear more information on their construction if you're open to share

Ehhh, not really nachos like in a restaraunt. I just take tortilla chips and smother the with cheese and bake until cheese melts. Then I dip those into a dip made of refried beans, salsa and sour cream. Very tasty.

Spring sucks here, too. Was on Spring Break a couple weeks ago. Highlight was getting my oil changed. Back this week, and I'm finding students are disappearing at a record pace (and it's not me; colleagues seeing the same).

On the other hand, I'm going to see Hitchcock's The Lodger with live music on Tuesday.

please don't think i'm asking to compare what you're making to some anonymous restaurant.
baking the chip with cheese to make a crisp and subsequently dipping into beans with creams and other things is a fantastic idea

I always put on the refried beans, then the cheese, then the japs, then under the broiler. I like the jalapenos and cheese slightly blistered. Then after they come out, some pico or picante.

My aunt always brought the same dish to Christmas. 8 x 14 inch pan with half inch of some bean amalgam, then what i think was a half inch layer of firm sour cream, topped with grated cheese and sliced black olives. Eat with corn chips. Not sure what she put in the beans but i would guess some South American spice combo.

Going to see two movies today because I need a break from my grinding schedule of working ten hours per week.

MID-AUGUST AT SOURDOUGH MOUNTAIN LOOKOUT

Down valley a smoke haze
Three days heat, after five days rain
Pitch glows on the fir-cones
Across rocks and meadows
Swarms of new flies.

I cannot remember things I once read
A few friends, but they are in cities.
Drinking cold snow-water from a tin cup
Looking down for miles
Through high still air.

Never really had much affection for Synder's poetry. But I should probably try again. You get older and tastes change.

I don't have an opinion of his poetry, but I've liked a bit of it. I'm such a slow poetry reader, that if I find one interesting, it takes me a year to go through the slimmest of volumes.

I have also liked more than a few of his essays. As with Dylan, people who want to glue him to their pet causes get stung.

A good guy to have a couple of beers with. Not at all offended by drunk college kids explaining his mistakes.

It's OPENING DAY!

This is probably my favorite sports day of the year. Not just because baseball is starting but symbolically the end of winter. Plus the hope and possibility since all teams feel they have a chance. For a couple of weeks anyway
