On of my favorite local stouts in Indy. This is the coffee variant, which is good, but not that much better than the base beer.

This variant, however, is ****ing fantastic. Coconut stout that has huge dark chocolate notes and tastes straight like an almond joy. There is a s'mores version coming out this summer that I'm excited to try also.

Screeeeetch from 18th Street. Super fresh DIPA. Shadows is there experimental series. They are trying to get a good hazy NE style IPA. Great beer, but not really close to that style.

This is 450 Norths attempt at the above. Again, really good fruity DDH IPA with Citra, mosaic and El Dorado, but probably a bit overpriced at $17/4 pack.

Another from 450. Citra Rainbows is 100% Citra DDH DIPA. This one hits the mark and I would gladly buy this year round.

Prarie Paradise. 13% imp stout with coconut and vanilla. Too boozy for my taste, but good nonetheless.

Last but not least are the 2 best beers I've had in a while. First is M-43 from Old Nation in Michigan courtesy of a trade with 2p2er thedeezy. Fantastic NE style IPA. Super hazy and juicy. Glad I still have a few more.

And a very similar beer, Homestyle from Bearded Iris in Nashville. This tasted almost exactly like Born again yesterday from Lagunitas, which I loved.
If anyone itt wants some M43, let me know. Willing to do some trades for things I can't get in MI

Took a hiatus from 2p2 so this may be old news, but Sip of Sunshine is suddenly available all over Boston bars. Lord Hobo, Salty Pig, etc. Would recommend.

Going to Boston in July to visit a friend. Good beer places to visit? They live in Southie

Are you leaving Southie at all? Not aware of any great beer spots in that area.

technically Trillium is in Southie, though probably not the part where your friend lives. either way it's not that far.

you should go to their beer garden downtown. open weekdays only, gets crowded early (after work crowd)

Oh yeah I guess you're kinda right next to the Harpoon brewery / hall if you're into that.

parents were visiting my sister in Vermont and picked these up for me, obviously know about Heady Topper but I don't generally follow beers that aren't available to me so how is this haul?

Thanks guys. I would imagine we will see a lot of the city. Any thing in particular I should seek out?

Popped in to look for suggestions, didnt expect to see M43 even though its pretty great. Have you had Boxer and/or boss tweed from the same brewery?

Boss tweed is the best of the bunch I think. Its pretty stellar

M43 is the only thing I've seen from them. They are Lansing area, right? Don't make it out that way much anymore. What local brews have you been into?

Checkraise, yeah, that's a pretty sweet haul. Second Fiddle is a steal and I'd be interested in how the OG VT hops compare w/ heady.

They are in Williamston. I live in Wixom so it's not too long of a drive. Lately I've been drinking the local stuff from either witches hat, drafting table or rivers edge. If you ever want to do a little tour they are all pretty close to one another.

Also been going to batch when in the city. They make some cool stuff.

The bottle release of boss tweed is today I should be getting a few if you'd like to try one. Essentially a double m-43.

I tried a new Lagunitas beer this weekend:

A fruity wild ale from Lagunitas, at <$15/6-pack? How can I go wrong.

I don't know, but man, this was pretty terrible.

Also got a 6-pack of Revolution Citra Hero which was pretty great. So, glass half full...

Consistently jealous of how cheap awesome beer is in America.

UK beer report. Currently in Small Bar Bristol (one of the best beer bars in the country) and they've got the four Siren Project Barista beers on.

I started with Crema. It's a coffee white stout. Very pleasant, nothing special.

Next up is the CapHeine. Taking a raspberry sour and adding coffee has the potential to be extremely divisive, but it's my favourite of the bunch. Quite clean tasting, which is a change, as I've been drinking a lot of bretty stuff lately, the coffee provides a richness to the beer which you often wouldn't get with a non-wild fruit sour. It mostly comes through on the aftertaste and sets the beer alight.

Not to be outdone, the Americano is a coffee DIPA which looks like sewer water but tastes utterly delightful. Hops are present but not as pungent as you'd expect for most DIPAs; they mostly provide a bittering function and some aroma. The coffee comes through strongly and the beer on the whole is right up there.

The Turkish is a more normal style: an Imperial coffee stout. I love the style and this is above average, but I doubt I'd be able to blind identify it in a week.

Think Im going to that as well. Not sure what day im going.

I sent my mother to Old Nation today to grab me some beer(shes cool like that and she lives close) and asked her to grab as much Boss Tweed as they would let her buy. I told her they'd probably only let her get one, but if she could get 2 to do it.

Good old mom heads to the brewery and asks whats the most I can get and the lady says 1. So she buys it

She then sends my grandmother(93) in to get another one so gram goes in and gets it and (my mom is telling me the story) " and thankfully the guy was happy to carry it for her"

I was confused because grandma gets around like shes about 60 and can easily carry a 4 pack of beer. Which is when my mom informed me they were allowing people to buy cases and not 4 packs and that I owe her $220.

Damn, that's funny. You have a lot of drinking ahead, only downside to the delicious NE style. Looks like a great beer though.

Friday > Saturday imo. Seems less crowded on Friday and you get some relief from the sun.

Sour fans,

Checked out almanac taproom last night.

Summer in the city and vanilla cherry dogpatch were real standouts.

Food standout was the musubi!

Headed to Asheville this weekend. Have been to Wicked Weed, Burial, Green Man, and at least one or two others on a trip last year so have had a couple beers at each place, but wanted to know if anyone has recommendations for specific beers at any of the Asheville places.
