Re: Backfist Backfire (EDF July MMA Thread)

Why is everyone trolling caught clean?

I want to see Weidman-Bisping actually. If he can stuff Weidman's takedowns like he did against Chael, then he would definitely win it over 5 rounds. How big of a favorite would Weidman be if they opened the lines now?

Bisping vs Stann and Cerrone vs Guillard are gonna be awesome fights.

Re: Backfist Backfire (EDF July MMA Thread)

thoughts on jardine vs Roger Gracie ?

think theres some good value at jardine at +180 , he has good tdd and should win the striking matchup (eventho gracie has a slight reach adv) just seems like a bad matchup for roger ...

I bet Roger's striking is already better than Jardine's, line is off on this fight.

Agree Stann and Bisbing will be competitive but Cerrone is a lock against Guillard although it may be exciting for a minute or two until Cerrone finishes it.

Re: Backfist Backfire (EDF July MMA Thread)

Had to avoid this thread till now as I'd had Munoz-Weidman recorded and only got round to watching it today. Good fight and sick elbow from Weidman, but wtf was the ref doing at the end? He just wanted to enjoy watching an unconscious guy getting his head beaten in for a while or something?

Bisping - Stann looks interesting. Stann's more of a brawler/heavy puncher right? Just the kind of guy that Bisping could have a lot of trouble with.

What's next for Anderson? Has Weidman really just earned his shot like they were saying? Can a win over Stann give Bisping the shot? Belcher? Lombard?

Hayes - Chisora starts in ten minutes, could be interesting.

Don't think Weidman deserves a title shot yet. Perhaps Hector (when he beats Boetsch) vs Weidman and winner gets title shot.

Both Anderson & UFC can still make a lot of money if Anderson keeps winning. Would be such a huge waste if a no name like Weidman got a shot and wins.

That was my thought as well. Possibly Bisbing in the meantime if Anderson just has to have another fight before it.

The best guy deserves the title shot. If he wins then good for him, he's the best. Money shouldn't come into it, and that's what the UFC has going for them ahead of boxing. They make fair match-ups even if a bad result might lose the organisation money down the line. They don't keep undefeated guys apart just because they can make more money that way, and they don't keeep the best contenders from fighting the champ for the same reason.

Who the #1 contender is is obv the tricky question though.
