There used to be a perfect Chinese place on 14th and Techwood that was attached to a hotel that I would go to from time to time, but now that's torn down. Also, Disco Diner is gone as well (however, Madame Frederick works at the IHOP across the street from me if that means anything to you).

I don't care about much, just that there is somewhere I can go by once a week or so, sit down, and have a decent meal while reading a book or something.
We always called this place Golden Buddhas, but its real name was Chinese Buddha. It just moved down the street. It's still open 24hrs.

bandito,

Very nice! But where am I to park? God help me if it's that Chevron on the corner of Spring, but I'll do it, so help me.

Others, yeah Marietta Diner is kinda out of the way since I'm going to and from Lithia Springs. I'll try to make a trip up for lunch possibly though.

Oh man, Chinese Buddha was great when you're drunk, but sober.... that **** was nasty. I remember going with a guy who tried to order the pork. The server shook her head and said... "you don't want pork. try beef or chicken." LOL.

Also, something I haven't seen mentioned is Brick Store Pub. It's in Decatur (I think they're opening a new one in the next year in the city. can't remember where exactly; near a park).

It has one of the best selections of beer I know of, all at extremely reasonable prices. Add in pretty good food too, also at very reasonable prices.

Oh and the service is quick and amazingly knowledgeable about beer. Plus the atmosphere is impressive too.

I like Brickstore a lot but some of the servers are serious beer snobs. You can't help but think they take it a little too seriously.

Brickstore is best during off hours. fri or sat is ridic and not fun to be there imo. I like going on sunday around 3-4.

I think the staff is great. Sure they are huge beer snobs and ultra serious about it but it only leads to great recommendations.

the roast beef is the best part of the menu but its all great.

I don't know how it took me this long but I just stumbled upon this little gem called Alon's in the Highlands. For those of you who still feel the void left by Eatzi's, here is your fix. Huge counter of gourmet prepared foods, pastries, breads, wines, cheeses, plus made-to-order hot sandwiches and salads. Absolutely incredible duplication of Eatzi's. I'm going to have to set aside a budget for this place. Includes outdoor seating for on-premise consumption. Just had their chicken salad, pesto pasta and roast beef sandwich. Hudge thumbs up.

Judging by the crowd, the word apparently isn't out on the street yet...

But East Andrews in Buckhead is doing a promotion with Belvedere. Free all-you-can-drink Belvedere vodka from 9-11 every Friday night in June. Just send an email to info@eastandrews.com and RSVP and you're on the list.

That's a good promo, too bad it isn't enough to offset the innumberable douchebags who frequent East Andrews.

Yeah, but the waitresses are so effing hot.

Yeah, I'm busy hitting on the INCREDIBLY HOT CHICKS that are there, not worrying about the d-bags.

Plus free vodka! I had about 7 Belvedere and Tonics to get my Friday night started off right last week, and intend to do the same this week.
06-25-2008 , 07:57 PM
Oh yeah, and that free Belvedere thing reminds me. Once a month this bar Olive's Waterside does an hour long open bar. Free beers and single-liquor well drinks. Not the best deal ever, but it's fun.

The one catch is that you have to "win" a spot by giving your name/email when you go to one, and then you get a party of 25 for the next one. So it's one of those things you have to be in to get in again. A bunch of my friends go to them though, so we've usually got one or two people who win a party for the next month's.

probably just my own personal tastes...but this place is full of $30,000-millionaires

Oh I have no problem with gold-diggers AT ALL. They can take their best shot at me, hahaha.

So is anybody going tonight? I'll definitely be at East Andrews tonight with some friends, and setting the over-under in 2 hours at 7.5 FREE Belvedere and Tonics. That's like $60 of bar credit right there, and this is the last night they're doing it!

PM me if you're going. Remember to RSVP the email above and show up early, like 9 latest

My aunt lives in LAwrenceville, I've been to her place dozen times but never ventured to the city. Spent a weekend there this summer and managed to do these:

Chicken & Waffles

Hey guys,

my first time in Atlanta area, visiting my gf here for a few days.
I love flying, action, speed and everything that is related to this .

So while googling, i found this here:

http:// www. skydivega.com/index. html
(hope its ok to post link)

If anybody wants to come along, shoot me a pm. My gf doesnt like that kinda stuff, sigh, but yeah, lets see what we can do.

Have never done this before (but i do paragliding). Tandemjump costs like 170$ (tax included) and you need to know exactly nothign about anything in order to do this.

When?

Saturday would be cool, if we find more people for another time saturday is no MUSt, but would be cool.

Any other meetup, cool ideas, college home games or w\e, pm me.

It's Georgia Tech, which would fulfill your college home game aspirations. I'd say we put together a pretty decent gameday for a bunch of nerds,

Don't know how many of you live in or around the Buckhead/Brookhaven area but tomorrow at Pub 71 (N Druid/Peachtree intersection) there's an all-day Oktoberfest party. Some buddies and I go every year and it's always a blast (if weather is good).

Basically, tons of good beer and german food, with live music most of the day. Starts at 3. Oh also usually tons and tons of hot drunk girls at this, it usually turns in to a block party for the whole area surrounding. If you wanna drop by, lemme know and come say hey and I'll buy you a pint. PM me if interested and I'll send the Facebook thing.
