I spent that last year in Alpharetta working. If you have not been to 'Cue BBQ, then go. Go very hungry and order the full rack with two sides. Amazing.

Tell you what, I will have work pay for it next time I am in town and report back.

BTW, was not a fan of Sushi Nami and I like to think I know sushi. It was OK, but not for those prices.

I'm having a hard time lately when people come in to town not just telling to go to Decatur and eat there for a day. Easy to get to from Marta, some of the best food and drinks in the city, and enough variety of cuisine to suit anyone's needs.

Chai Pani, Paper Plane, The Pinewood and Twains are all basically regulars for me at this point, depending on what I'm looking for.

Chai Pani has consistently underwhelmed me. How did you not name Iberian Pig?

I have only had chai pani in Asheville, but found it mediocre at best. Iberian Pig is great though.

Went to Fox Bros BBQ for the first time tonight. It was elite. I rate it >>Heirloom. I still haven't been to Fat Matt's, but can't imagine it is much better. The ribs I had were as tender as any I have ever had and the first ones that actually fall off the bone without any effort at all.

Agreed, I haven't had better bbq than fox bros, especially in Atl. I love the brisket and my brother swears by the ribs.

I wasn't that impressed with chai pani either but I'm not a connoisseur of Indian food by any means.

I also never mentioned Harry and Sons on here, but it is definitely my go-to for Thai in Atlanta, and it's pretty cheap.

I have to say I like Heirloom better than Fox Bros, maybe I'm just a sucker for the Korean influence. Community Q is also pretty solid bbq.

Does anyone know when Cook-Out is supposed to open in Atl? I read a few months ago that the NC burger and shake fast-food joint is coming to Northside Drive and maybe somewhere on Moreland too if I remember correctly, but I haven't heard anything about it since. Been wanting to try it for a while and missed my opportunity this weekend when I was in Athens

Man, tough crowd on Chai Pani. It's definitely not your typical Indian fare, but I've never had a bad meal there. FWIW, I've always gotten one of their thalis.

As for Iberian Pig, I've been there a few times and really really really like it. But the food is good enough that when you combine the tapas menu and our glaring lack of self-control it's a little too expensive to have a regular slot in the rotation.

Fox Bros is also my favorite place for barbecue. The new Smoke Ring restaurant in Castleberry Hill could end up being really good (the food sure was) but service has been really bad the two times I've been. Those were both in the first week it opened though, the chef is a friend of a friend, so maybe he's gotten his staff's **** together now.

Found a new little hidden gem in Sandy Springs/Roswell...called Beef Grill. Very sketchy looking place but phenomenal meat. $10 brazillian steakhouse. Dont expect much as far as sides or ambiance go, but for AYCE steak, pork, wings, etc.

How's everyone today? FD up. More embarrassing - last 20 hours or 96 games?

I gotta say +1 to this, just because the korean is so fun and different.

I went to St Cecilia and The Optimist in the past 6 weeks and was really impressed with the former, but not so much the latter (though I had heard lots of hype so I had a high standard for the Optimist). Total (don't remember if this was pre or post tip) of $120 for 2 people with no drinks is a bit pricey for what was a good, but not great meal at the Optimist.

I just had some pretty good tacos from Rock n Taco right beside Buckhead Saloon for lunch. It was a decent find and I will go back, but nothing worth going out of your way for. I could see it being a great place to start an early night out in Buckhead on a Friday or Saturday though.

I also liked, but didn't love the Optimist, but it does seem like they are kind of hit or miss with their entrees. I had snapper I think which was very good, but definitely overpriced- not huge portions either. The beignet-style hush puppies made the meal for me. So good. Not really rushing to go back there though. There are a bunch of places that are more consistent and at a better or at least equal price point with better food. JCT Kitchen comes to mind.

I've really been liking Pinewood Tippling Room lately when I get over to Decatur for a nice meal, and they are on loafdeals so you can basically get $20 off your meal if you buy the certificate. The fried chicken was really great, and I also really liked the Hush Puppies there (not sure why these hush puppies are becoming a theme here, but they're two of the best things I had at both places).

Going to Atlanta Fish Market tonight for the third time and am very excited to go back.

Agree with JCT being consistent and a good value. I go eat the chicken and dumplings there about once a month.
