Re: Ask TheMetetron about living in or visiting Buenos Aires, Argentina

Bangalore is pretty close to one of my least favorite places in Buenos Aires.

Not to mention the Indian food there is just horrible.

Jesus, they have pub crawls in BA now? I hate to sound like a snob but this place is getting ruined quickly by foreigners

Why do you say that? It's not easy to get good draft beers here, and they have quality beers, as well as cool gin tonic jars. And I don't think food is horrible at all, maybe you just picked the wrong option or something.

Ha, you think they didn't have pub crawls back when you first arrived? The economic crisis of 2002 opened up Argentina to pretty much every foreigner traveling through SA.

Their food is pretty damn bad for Indian. I've tried it on multiple occasions. Though after getting back to the states, I've realized all Indian food in BsAs isn't as good as I thought it was... I just dealt cause it was all I had.

Also, for draft beers, I'd go to one of the passable-great brewpubs in the city. Hell, Bangalore carries Antaris (sp?). Why not just go to Antaris?

Last edited by TheMetetron; 02-22-2008 at 12:45 PM. Reason: and fwiw Antaris isn't even one of the good brew pubs

You are probably right, I just avoided the hell out of anything remotely close to them. I guess I'm more saddened by seeing people here want to go on them. People: BsAs has incredible nightlife that you are not going to see on a pub crawl. Save that **** for Amsterdam.

We had a sushi dinner last night at Jardin Japones. Pretty awesome environment and the food was good too. A little pricey compared to most places here, but still cheaper than a comparable meal in the states.

If anyone wants to go next week count me in, I will be very happy to join any of you.
I'd like to try Bangalore, haven't been there yet. I suspect a few of us would be up for this next week (LuckyDevil and his Mrs).

I've been to the Mumbai a couple of times over the years, it's average at best IMO, I haven't bothered with it for a long while.

imakefrush introduced us to the Thai restaurant Sudestada a couple of blocks from his place on Fitz Roy and Guatemala last year, awesome food. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something a bit different in BA. You'll pretty much always need to book a table (at least a day in advance for the weekend) as it's quite a small place. Mains start from around $30AR.

Re: Ask TheMetetron about living in or visiting Buenos Aires, Argentina

Eh... I think I have experienced some type of nearly every aspect of BsAs nightlife by now. Now I want to chill with some random externarjos and have a nuanced conversation in English with people other than my roommate for one night. Pub crawls are typically the best place for that. I realize BsAs is not a pub crawlesque city but seriously your problem (other than coming across as a gigantic snob) is...?
