You haven't listened to the new Thug, Ka or Staples? Btw sorry for late reply on the austrians, the Bianco track is kinda nice, reminds me a little of PNL.

SMUTT: Agreed (doubt that's very surprising:P)

vastly prefer the floyd mayweather version without travis scott. don't like travis scott in general so pick up the phone a weak spot as well for me. and future swag a little disappointing but might grow on me.

other than that the album is incredible and probably his best since B6 imo

agreed. i had a discussion w my friend the other day whether or not yt has surpassed lil Wayne in overall relevance. it has to be close at this point as he is clearly past his rip off status if he ever had that, hes very very much his own thing. Otoh lil Wayne is a huge phenomenon looking back at the last decade. Thoughts?

Still not close although maybe with some normalization of eras (given how fragmented music fan bases are even compared to 06-09). C3 had three top 10 singles and a #1. In rap circles YT currently has the edge but weezy crossed over many demographics completely.

Although most of my problems are with phrasing "overall relevance" and maybe we have different ideas of what you mean there.

not only listened, i listem to them because i like those releases. especially jeffery.

but if you compare eg a 808 mafia (metro boomin, london on da track etc) production to an el-p (one of the few rap producers who know what a synthesizer is) production: lol.
everybody uses the same presets, it takes like 10 minutes to "learn" to produce a "trap" beat or whatever you want to call it. it's more primitive than a techno track from the 90ies.
<< which is perfectly fine, i'm just puzzled if sth like that is praised to the skies.

new schoolboy q album, track "whateva u want": embarrassing.
EDM (worst musical genre ever) 10 years ago was better.

watch 10 videos on youtube with rap producers (eg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6N61R9wSPcU) and after that this one:

imo: the cover art from jeffery alone makes thugger more relevant than weezy.

"Giegling is our story. Something like a diary. It's an ongoing story about friendship, exploring life, making mistakes, falling in love. Musically speaking, there's always a melancholic touch that goes throughout the releases, but also an infantile happiness that makes you smile, and at the same time feel a little bit ashamed."

Thanks for the shares pimmelsau. Cleaned my entire apt to that.

Some recent discoveries:

The Maytals - My Daily Food
Cheerful really old reggae/dub whatever.

Atlas Sound - Walk About (feat. Noah Lennox)
Dreamy piece with a catchy melody and Panda Bear

Francis and the Lights - May I Have This Dance
Album highlight, pretty neat afro-pop thing

kind of a shot in the dark, but does anyone find that piano that plays a couple seconds in the above link very very familiar? I definitely know it from something I've heard a lot before but can't place it.
