saw girls a couple years ago at great scott in boston with real estate opening and were more surprised at how good real estate was (was before they put out their first album... I think?) but chris owens has a presence that is undeniable. certain people in the world that can just make all your emotions rise to the surface whether they be writers, musicians, athletes, etc. and he's got it.

I know nothing about The Oh Sees, apparently they've been around for more than a decade so maybe this is common knowledge, but I saw them last night at a festival and it was hands down the best set I've seen in years. Raucous rock with dual drum kits. Do not miss an opportunity to see them.

Deerhoof pretty incredible as well.

I had like one foot on the Sleigh Bells hate bandwagon but that song is pretty great. It's exactly the kind of thing they need to do to avoid being labeled as just a gimmick imo.
