So we've all heard all the jams from 2011, and now it's time to get excited for the new crop of records from our favorites.

via nyc999, here's a good list from stereogum of 50 albums in the works.

I'm most excited about Spiritualized, among those on this list, but also The Walkmen, Sleigh Bells (despite not liking that first single), The Shins, Rancid (Tim brought the gang back together???), and The Magnetic Fields.

Also based on that first single, the new Silversun Pickups should be great.

Their 1st album was really good. Looking forward to hearing their new stuff.

Hoping for a new Radiohead album this year. Although KoL was good, it was a bit of a tease and, reading between the lines, it seems they were recording stuff after it was released so...

Local Natives.

Let's do this thing.

In addition to the stuff listed, Azealia Banks full-length, new Animal Collective, Bloc Party, Lana Del Rey, Modest Mouse, of Montreal, Matthew Dear, Deltron 3030 all happening/possible

That Sleigh Bells single has grown on me btw.

the prospect of new Radiohead, Animal Collective and Modest mouse is getting me very excited for the new year

also im more scared for the new Sleigh Bells, cause i really dont want to dislike them but there's a very good chance we'll all be disappointed Lets hope not tho

most of what has been listed already but i'll add d'angelo - james river.. even if it ends up being the neo-soul chinese democracy

Screaming Females might be the best rock band in the world (or at least the best named) right now and just finished recording an album with Steve Albini. So that's guaranteed to be awesome.

From the stereogum list, looking forward to Cat Power, Spiritualized, and hopefully Janelle Monae gets something out. Also have no idea what to make about Garbage making a new album but it should be... interesting?

Bloc Party said a couple weeks ago that Kele is confirmed still in the band and that they've been recording

I'd be shocked if they released anything. They're doing a massive tour, Coachella is a near certainty, but they said they'd be playing around 5 new songs on the tour. They'll come out eventually, but I doubt an album soon.

cloud nothings leaked if anyone else cares.

Calling my #1 album of 2012 right now..

^ Love that song. Very high hopes for the album also

It will not disappoint, I've seen them live twice the past few months and every new song was great. Except maybe one that was kinda dull but that was probably me (still making my way back from getting drinks).

Oh man, Op Ivy was so awesome.

Still listening to the Smith Westerns a lot. Love this album, hope they can repeat in the future.

First Aid Kit sounds very good.

If there's any band I wish would die it's Foster the People. I'm pretty confident they will since that song has less musical depth than Mmmbop and it's probably their peak, but still they are like a crappy Vampire Weekend cover band.

They might not release anything next year but I wouldn't imagine the fact that they're touring would have much to do with it; they released Amnesiac whilst touring.

I saw a tweet from Phil Selway after KoL was released saying something like (iirc) he apologised for the lack of updates (concerning his solo album) but that he had just emerged from the Radiohead lair which made me think they must have been working on more stuff.

I was gonna post this in the 2011 thread but it got locked early.

Great Australian debut release 'Ex Tropical' by a group called Lost Animal.

Only one track on youtube, but three on their Myspace page:http://www.myspace.com/lostanimal76

If you happen to like it, their label ships worldwide for AUD$20.

I quite like the Pets With Pets album on the same label.

Anyone interested in indie Australian music, check out http://www.messandnoise.com/, they have an Oz top 50 for 2011 up atm.

i'm interested to hear new xx... i really liked that album and really didn't like anything else that jamie did since. at all.

would think that grizzly bear and dirty projectors would get some love / expectation from this crowd... i am definitely interested to hear DP and will certainly check out GB.

will always check out anything ian mackaye makes though i haven't got into the evens that much as of yet
