I like it.

What are their EP's like? Anywhere I can get any of them? Google just returns a bunch of pages in a language I don't speak

as far as i can tell lana del rey is a rich poser whose daddy paid a lot of money for somebody to make her sound like a poor man's amy winehouse.

let's hope she at least takes the same career path.

Don't forget m83 on August 8. Summer stage lineup wasn't great last year but they are making up for it

I think I've posted about The White Buffalo before. This was a pretty killer cover of House of the Rising Sun that was on Suns of Anarchy

I heartily endorse this song/video/album.

I really don't care for her, but jeez.

Guns and Roses is doing a mini-tour this month. I'm not a real big concert person, so what's the deal with the pre-sale vs. general public. Since the show is in real small venues, I'd like to maximize my chances of getting tickets. Any pro tips?

Does anyone know much about the artist Daughter from the UK?

She has 2 EP's out (Both released last year). Sounds kind of similar to Florence.

Check the GNR fan forums for presale passwords. If you get shut out, Terminal 5 often opens up more tickets the day of the show.

Also, if a GNR concert says 8pm on the ticket, don't expect for them to hit the stage until at least 11pm. I saw them a few months ago to relive my jr/sr high school days, and was PO'd when I showed up at 9 only to find out they weren't going on until around midnight. There was an 11pm curfew at the venue, so they paid the fine in advance. Only thing that saved my night was there being a sports bar at the venue with a Thursday night NFL game playing.

Kind of digging the new Heartless Bastards album

Lateness notwithstanding, I saw GN'R for their New Year's show at the Joint and they were blazing. Axl sounded almost as good as ever, the 3 dudes they have replacing Slash combined to sound almost as good as Slash, and they played for over 3 hours.

I was there for the last concert the "real" GN'R ever played at the Coliseum in 1989 and this was a much better rock show than that.

I would definitely go out of my way to see them at The Ritz (or what used to be the Ritz) on 2/15 if I lived on that side of the country.

It's really a shame that the 5 original members of GN'R can't work it out and get together for a tour. They are all sober and playing separately with their own bands to produce ****tier versions of what they could be doing together. Even Steven Adler seems to be holding it together... I saw his band play last year and he still has that groove that helped make them so good in the 80s.

Really digging Schoolboy Q

Also...a lot of the indie albums are extremely ephemeral...so I thought I'd post a few older indie albums I still spin

Fang Island
Titus
White Denim
Harlem

And my favorite rock group right now I'm not going to lump in as "indie" as they are psychedelic garage flower children the black lips.

Also, this IMDABES kid is gonna grow up to make hot ****:

Guns N Roses is one of those classic bands you think are really really great until you realize god damn they suck ass.
02-01-2012 , 01:04 AM
this one has been making the internet rounds, pretty amusing

http://www.electricalaudio.com/phpBB...hp?f=4&t=58593

new york "indie" band says it costs 100k to be in a rock group

definitely the best part is that they have to take cabs to all their gigs
