Jobs to apply to with a legal degree Jobs to apply to with a legal degree

Was wondering if anyone here has a legal degree but doesn't quite work in the legal field. Or if they know of the kind of jobs to apply to with a legal degree.

I graduated from law school, did my articling, but don't feel I have the passion to become the lawyer I initially wanted to be. With the job market as it is, finding a entry level associate position would be difficult even if I wanted to pursue it.

My problem is that I don't really have much work experience worth mentioning, besides some summer CSR jobs and my articling at a criminal law firm. I feel my lack of exp is definitely holding me back. Anyone with any advice on what kind of fields/jobs to apply to?

I would suggest a law firm. Of some sort.

What law school did you go to? How well did you do? How old are you? Where are you located?

Experimental subject.

In America, more and more research institutions are replacing lab rats with lawyers. There are three reasons for this:
  1. There are now more lawyers than rats in the USA.
  2. There is always a chance that a research assistant might develop an emotional attachment to a lab rat.
  3. When it comes right down to it, there are some things a rat just won't do.

az,

You'd prob get better responses in OOT or Student Life for this kind of question. PM me if you'd like me to move it to one of those forums.

I know a ton of lawyers who don't work in law, but most of them worked for a few years as a lawyer first. I know two people who got their law degree and never practiced law. One went back to grad school in economics, and the other took some random marketing job.
