Arrow The Well - Sounded Simple

"A stranger is being shown around a village that he has just become part of. He is shown a well and his guide says "On any day except tuesday, you can shout any question down that well and you'll be told the answer" . The man seems pretty impressed, and so he shouts down: Why not on tuesday? and the voice from in the well shouts back: Because on tuesday, its your day in the well."

Split posted a funny pic which began a discussion about "Imiatation crabmeat", I found it funny that such a thing existed - but it turns out I am much in the minority.

Hence - I know NOTHING about sushi.

(This isnt a first for me, I once was drunk at a quiz and refused to believe "chickpeas" existed. Basicly if I have not heard of it it's not real imo.)

Re: The Well - Sounded Simple

People have explained to me what 'chickpeas' are and even shown them to me, but I still don't believe they exist.

Sorry, forgot to add my question: What's the highest game you ever played, and how did you do?

Garbonzo bean, imo.

Also, Ceci (Chih-chee) if you're Italian.

SS, is there anything better than poker?

Re: The Well - Sounded Simple

which was more important for you to learn at the early stages of your poker career? BR management or better poker fundamentals?

What are some of the things that you think really boosted you through to the next level of your game?

Pokers began 3 years ago, my brother bought a small chip set and we organised a homegame.
Looking back the game was hilarious, no one had a clue and we were all watching for twitchy noses and stuff, the kind of game where the "what beats what" sheet was passed around all night.

The standard in that game has improved slightly since then, it runs occasionally but its more of a social event. However it was enough to get me hooked on this game.

My first effort into online was playmoney at "holdempoker.com" which I sucked at. That site disappeared one day (I was to learn later the cause was UIEGA so as you can see I spent pokers glory days at play money SNGs ).
I then deposited $50 at pacific and played $5 SNGs, that lasted a couple of months as did my next $50.

Around this time I was posting on a different forum and made the traditional "I cant even beat $5 SNGs FFS WTF" post.
A very helpful guy called FionnMac replied and went through about 25 (raw) HH giving advice etc. He currently plays mid-high stakes and posts here under the same name.
That gave me the determination to work damn hard at my own game since someone random on the internets had taken that time. Also, it's part of the reason why I like to help out beginners etc. (hint - people will help if they see genuine effort hitting a wall)

Anyhow, I moved onto stars and donked around running $50 into a bankroll, found 2+2 and grinded up through the micros.

Then I got my dream ticket, Joe Tall PMed me to ask if I would do "Late Night Coaching" on DC with Nolan. That was so awesome, especially as I was in the process of my first shot at $100.
It went really well and I managed not to make a fool of myself. Sean was super helpful during and after the sessions, a very nice guy in addition to obv an awesome player.
If that wasn't good enough I was asked to join DC as a coach for the micro stakes, that was pretty awesome.

Since then I have been playing 100NL with some 200NL, mostly on FT. Volume is my biggest problem as I have a business and family so by the time I sit down at a table I'm already 12-14 hours into a day.
Even so I really enjoy the game and I'm glad that I can make a chunk of change doing what I enjoy.

Cliffnotes
- Homegame LOL
- Standard busto $50s then run it up
- Luckbox DC gig
- 100NL
- Profit??

Re: The Well - Sounded Simple

Graph from HEM which is probably April 08 onwards.
Mostly 100NL, some 50NL and a couple of shots higher

December is a bit of a "Groundhog Day" so far.
I refuse to bitch about running bad but I have never been so tempted to do so (see what I did there).

The standards at DC are super high and over at the forums there are 5-6 player groups shouting for content so a series I doubt would be happening for a while if ever.

However I do have some projects on the go. I'm working on one vid with HH to show the main things uFR players do wrong. So I suppose that will be a series compressed into a single vid with 6-8 concepts discussed.

Will probably knock out a 25NL vid soon as well.

Not on the internet (and I include the obv there)

Does bring up the point that I really enjoy the game and I'd hate to eventually "make it" and then be one of those players who says "I cant wait till I make xyz and can quit". Probably one of the good points about being limited in volume.
