Thanks! It's definitely a hard balance because I love both.

I think if you only value bet (not c-bet air), played low and middle pocket pairs for set value, and played overpairs aggressively, you'd do quite well at 10NL.

tbh, I was crushed. I went from $800 to $300 in under 30 days. I thought my poker "run" was gonna be over. It sucks pretty hard when you have to drop from 25NL back to 10NL. But I was resigned to doing what I had to do, which was drop down, work on not spewing or getting fancy, and playing solid poker. I'd really say that that first downswing was where I learned how to play solid poker; it was either learn to play well and not rely on running good, or go broke.

Mastering the psychology of poker is the hardest thing for anyone to do, and I've only broken the surface. What I mean is, this game is a brutal bitch sometimes. You have to understand that your obligation is to play situations - maximize when ahead, minimize when behind. Your obligation is not to try and have a dick-measuring contest because you think everyone is playing back at you. Learning to accept the fact that sometimes you just get cold decked and there's nothing you could really do about losing 4 buy ins in two days is part of progressing as a player. At the end of the day, you need to know that your fundamentals are solid, that you are a long term winner, and that you know if you play your A game and have patience, the 4 buy ins you lost in a 2 days from being cold decked will become winning 10 buy ins in the same time.
tl;dr - cards don't give a **** if you get mad from getting 2 outter'ed. You need to get to a point where your confidence in your game sustains you when you're running bad. Have patience - everything will work out in the long run if you have the fundamentals down.
