My first video!

60mb

My first attempt at making a video, does it show?

I play a 10 table stack on stars for about 35 minutes. I run 17/12/2/~350 hands. ATS 40% CBet ~65%.

I don't normally play a stack and this is not meant to be instructional. Just a way for me to think out loud. I do hope you can learn from my correct or incorrect plays. Ok, disclaimer is out of the way...

Hope you enjoy it and I appreciate any / all comments.

Say hi if we mix it up =)

The first thing that I noticed is that a lot of your tables had numerous short stacks. I'm not sure if you kept playing on them for the same of the video, but I would definitely get off those tables asap.

Just a couple of random thoughts:

7:20 with QQ. I would just 4bet and get it in preflop.

8:00 with 44. you are oop against a ss. I think that this is a standard 3bet or fold spot. After villain checks behind the flop, I'm definitely stabbing the turn.

13:00 with JJ. You 3bet from $0.75 to $3.75 (5x). I think that this raise size is too big. When someone opens to $0.75, my standard is to raise to $2.75

14:50 with A9. I'm double barreling. You are missing out on value from so many worse pairs and p+d hands by checking.

16:20 with T8s. I think that villain is too shallow to isolate.

16:50 with QQ. I don't think there is any value in betting the river.

17:50 with 66. Standard fold after you get 3bet.

23:50 with KQ. don't limp utg. raise or fold.

26:30 with AK. by raising the flop, you are turning you hand into a bluff.

28:40 with A7. I am betting the turn. villain range is comprised mostly of pp's, and it is unlikely that he would check back either an overpair or a set on that flop.

29:00 with AQ. I fold to the limp/3bet. you never have the best, or even decent equity for that matter.

30:00 with AK. I don't know if it is spewy or not, but I also call the open shove.

Yes, for the past 4 weeks or so. Why?

Noidea555:

I appreciate your feedback. I didn't like my play either with the AQ hands when I reviewed my session, I've been trying to pay more attention to those type of hands.

7:40 QQ I've been a little gun shy w/ getting it all in with QQ preflop, I've just run into KK or AA a lot and it's been affecting me. Thoughts on leading that flop?

13:00 JJ That is larger than my standard 3 bet size. I didn't mind taking the pot down preflop and I think a lot of villains think in terms of $$$ not bets at this level.

14:50 A9 I think I should have made value bet on the river. So you think I should be b/f on the turn and c/c on the river?

16:50 QQ I didn't think villain was checking a K or A all the way through on that hand.

26:30 AKo What's your line?

Thanks for watching and good comments.

You have 40% equity against KK+ and AK. Add in some FE, and the times when villain is bluffing or stacks off with 99 or 88, and I think that a 4bet clearly becomes the correct play. On the flop, I would crai. Firstly, if villain has air and you bet, he is just going to fold, but c/r'ing allows you to get value from those air hands. Secondly, if villain flopped some p+d hand then he might just call the donk, as opposed to shoving over it, which can lead to a ton of crappy turn spots.

14:50 A9 I think I should have made value bet on the river. So you think I should be b/f on the turn and c/c on the river?
yes. b/f the turn, and c/c and non-draw completing river card

16:50 QQ I didn't think villain was checking a K or A all the way through on that hand.
Although this may be true, I really don't think that many villains are going to pay you off with JJ, which essentially means that you are bluffing into a dry side-pot.

26:30 AKo What's your line?
At the risk of sounding like a huge nit, I would fold preflop, and fold the flop. Although you can almost certainly call profitably preflop, you're going to have to make plays at pots to make it +EV. When he small bets the flop, you beat nothing. He would not be doing that with anything but a total bluff or an absolute monster. If he has a mediocre hand there, say AQ, why would he give everyone such great odds to draw to their str8, or catch 2pair? It just doesn't make sense. If I really wanted to continue with the hand, I would just flat the bet, but I still think that folding is better.

Thanks for watching and good comments.
No problem

Ok, I'll work on getting back to that with QQ against players I think could have a slightly wider range than premium.

Yes, you are being too nitty if you're folding AKo pf.

I forgot to say that sitting with or staying at tables with a lot of short stacks isn't something I do normally. I do try to start 1 or 2 tables every session, which invites short stacks, but that's for different reasons.

I like playing shorthanded for a while, as I normally play full ring.

To paraphrase what Vinny VT said it best. Donks/fish love action. They don't want to wait on a waiting list, they want to play. So when I see a bunch of waiting lists at the top of the page, I start up a new table. Sometimes a bunch of short stackers sit and I leave to try again. Other times 60BB+ stacks show up that are just looking for action and it works out.

I just recently moved from NL10 to NL25. Knowing this is your normal game helps me see the level of knowledge a regular at NL25 has. If you had been a NL200 reg, I would think "wow this guy is real good and knows a ton more than me. I must be doing something wrong"

For example, the popular NL50 LAG video on the micro stakes 6max forum was done by a player that plays higher.

There is very little difference between 10nl and 25nl. Hope you were able to learn something through my play (more than just notes on me ). Thanks for watching.

Doesn't it drive you nuts that you don't see the outcome of 90% of your hands?

Another question: I notice that you were at the same seat on each table, which obviously is necessary. I know how to select any seat at Pokerstars, but when I do, the HUD stats do not shift to that seat as well. I'm sure there is a simple solution to this, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is. I've tried hitting reset on the HUD icon on the table, but that doesn't work. Help!

I normally don't stack, just the only way I could record as my cpu isn't supa-fast.

You couldn't see it, but I was running a AHK script that is a one touch table move, so the big hands or ones where I really wanted to see the outcome I could pop out of the stack.

I find it prevents tilt more than encourages it. The tables come back and I won or lost. I don't get to see how I sucked out or they sucked out. It's more like, a lot of my tables are up, or I'm reloading all the time, what's going on. Not as much I'm unstoppable! or everyone is catching up to me, I'm on monkey tilt!

Are you using PT3? I remember having that problem with PT2/PAHUD.

The video was on my old cpu and I cleared out/ canceled my mega upload account.

The quality was poor, the action hard to follow, and hopefully I have improved as a player since making it. I've been kicking around an idea for another one that I think would be interesting.
