What is "peeling"?
I agree with the other comments that this was a bad spot to try to push him off a hand like a mid-PP or draw.
What kind of hand range are you assigning him after he calls my 3bet?
Also, putting aside what he actually did in this case, would you consider this flop c/r a good move with, say, QQ? Would you strongly favor betting out this flop over attempting a c/r here?
Ultimately I think in some twisted, misguided sense I did this to "defend against a bluff". I figured, ok he's attempting to steal, I 3bet, decent chance he's calling me fairly light here. I don't want to cbet this fairly large 3bet pot and have him bluff me off here, even though I don't have anything. Instead, I'LL bluff HIM... yeah THAT'S what I'll do, THAT'LL SHOW HIM...
This certainly wasn't my internal monologue at the time which I'm sure was closer to the sound of crickets but maybe this entered my mind at some point? Clearly not a winning poker attitude/thought process/lack thereof. But if anyone has any advice that might speak to this, aside from "stop being an idiot and playing bad poker" it would also be much appreciated.
