Go to a real post office, not a postal outlet or postal counter if at all possible. I've found that outlets/counters sometimes don't offer all delivery services to Canada. In particular, they often only have Priority. Which is a rip off (as soon as it hits the Canadian border it just goes in with regular mail). You want "First-Class Mail International":

Obv if a little postal counter is really conveniently close, try there first, but if they'll only ship Priority it's probably going to be worth it to head to a real post office.
You can also use the Small Flat-Rate Box for $10.95 which isn't horrible but still pricey.
