Nah, but was planning on sending something that combines two honestly Finnish substances: salmiac and Koskenkorva.

In other words, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salmiakki_Koskenkorva

US has some weird über-protectionist rules which make it illegal for people to send alcohol from abroad via mail. Not to mention that there's a plethora of red tape with customs forms etc. Had to come with something completely different, and probably sending the package tomorrow.

We could always organize a round 2 for the procrastinators of the bunch. I would be interested in something like this.

Not sure about the Canadian mail system Vanguard, but it has to be better than what Wyoming has.

i shipped a 12x8 box the other day to canada and it said it would take about a week, and cost me about $14 (the box was pretty light)

Go to a real post office, not a postal outlet or postal counter if at all possible. I've found that outlets/counters sometimes don't offer all delivery services to Canada. In particular, they often only have Priority. Which is a rip off (as soon as it hits the Canadian border it just goes in with regular mail). You want "First-Class Mail International":

http://pe.usps.com/text/Imm/ce_003.htm#ep2041503

(Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the table)

Obv if a little postal counter is really conveniently close, try there first, but if they'll only ship Priority it's probably going to be worth it to head to a real post office.

You can also use the Small Flat-Rate Box for $10.95 which isn't horrible but still pricey.
