Did I play this bad? Im thinking its possible he flopped a straight so if I raise I will only get it in when I'm behind. Idk if villain would donk J10 and would go for the check raise though. then the brutal runout after I planned on check calling down so i had to fold.

Use the hand converter built into forums.

It depends on villian but generally I think you can save a lot of money by folding turn. 6x and jt have you beat which is like 30+ combos at least and the only other thing some villians can play like this is jj,tt,66,88 which is only 18 combos, and alot of regs are not going to play sets so aggro on this board, and will also not pay off boats when the board pairs. Calling turn is not terrible since you have enough left behind for implied odds, and villian can sometimes be out of line here, especially with the wierd pot size barrels. Overall it should be fine as played but it would be much easier if you had at least some stats on the player.

Yah I definitely agree that the turn call could be costly. I was playing too many tables to know much about the villain but in my hand history he donked twice with an underpair to the board so that is worth noting. I don't have stats since i am not sure what is comparable with my site.

you have top set and the flop donk def isnt just JT and he will absolutely gii with worse. Raise the donk and try to get the money in.

As played I guess turn and river are ok.

Don't be afraid of monsters under the bed.
Raise the flop and plenty of smaller sets, two pair, possibly overpairs will call.
With strong but vulnerable hands you generally want to raise, the slight caveat to this is whether you are playing JT out of UTG+1 position? If not your range of possible hands is capped and villain can get aggro without too much resistance.

Agree, raise the flop.

100% raise the flop and put as money as you can in before a scare card comes..

I agree with the consensus. Raise the flop because you showed aggression pre and should continue that line.
Plus, if V all ins on the flop you can fold or you might get V to fold the turn brick.

If V had checked the flop then a check would have been more appropriate.

Checking flop behind is disastrous imo at these stakes. We want to get money in while we can, especially on wet boards. People will call or raise with whatever, it doesn't matter, we have a nutted hand and even against better hands we do ok. Top set you never fold on the flop at these stakes except MAYBE in very, very rare cases.
