No numbers on villain. Play on ignition and this was hand #3 so HUD had nothing for me.

Too aggressive? Just a cooler? thanks

completely fine. calling down to allow him to bluff is an equally sound alternative as well.

i think it is, i think its best to flat your entire (call) range here

I think a shove isn't the best option. Please correct me if I am wrong. The reason is precisely that if you play the way you did, Villain's can set-mine you extremely profitably given that you can't let go of an overpair. The only way that shoving gets value here is if Villain is fishy enough to stack off top pair or another overpair lower than yours (JJ/QQ). In any other case, you get no value especially because there is no flush draw.

Personally, calling and going from there seems better. If you call flop and re-evaluate on the turn there's a chance you gain a bit more information and thus make a better decision.

If you face bets on all streets I think against most Villains you'll be able to fold river or even turn in some cases.

Does any one know how you can sniff out that they have a set?

When they raise your bet postflop is a good sign.

when they limp with nitty status. (most limp with pairs). check raise flops.

if the player is loose well, he would play it fancy like call flop then attack turn (they raise them in any position).
