Re: Set of Kings vs River shove

The villain looks very fishy with even 22 hands. Any more reads on him? His passive play on flop and turn and then shove on the river induce quite big made hand. His range is very wide so he might have small flush or made straight (small possibility) maybe two pair. On the other hand, you are quite committed to the pot so if you think he's fishy then call and if not fold. I have seen many tilted fishes just raising pot like this with a pair or two pair. We need more stats here I think.

Re: Set of Kings vs River shove

This is such a sickening spot... As fishy as he is, villain can never be bluffing in this spot and I think we are good <10% of the time. Both the flush and the straight got there, and it looks so much like a fish chasing a draw and getting there. I think it's close, but I'm going to have to go with a fold. Nh if folded on river.

with flush and straight getting there i'd look to showdown river for cheaper, maybe I'd bet half pot, and this is a fold

Re: Set of Kings vs River shove

Villain could easily have the straight (7, 32, 73 etc) since his range is so wide. Or small flush.

Against 77/14 I'd bet a pot sized amount on flop...

River: I'd fold and throw my chair out of the window. But that's just me.

Re: Set of Kings vs River shove

river raise is always the nuts. As much as I hate it, and sans reads, I find a fold here and just try to move on with life.
