I think it's individual if you can handle it, some people might tend to chase loses when seeing they are down and checking results will become a distraction from playing their A-game. Also people who check results tend to be too result oriented and not look objectively at their session.

If you fall into one of these categories or have other issues by checking results there is really no point in checking, if however you can look at a losing graph after feeling you played great without changing your mood drastically I don't see any reason not to check results.

BYN summed it up pretty nicely, it's just an unnecessary distraction which can take me away from my A-game. Plus I want it to be a nice surprise when I'm up 100 BIs at the end of the month

Jokes aside, what if that "nice surprise" isn't as nice as you thought it would be? Or worse, a red number instead? I can see the tilt being magnified over a much longer period of time instead of just being annoyed by losing a couple stacks in a session and then feeling pretty neutral by the time you play your next session.

Check once a month when have 80bi. Check week or 3 in 3 days when have like 20 or so.

Am giving this not checking results thing a whirl for the first time this month. Already feel mentally lighter at the end of a session and finding it easier to focus on decision-making during a session.

I'm not too sure. I'll cross that bridge when it comes to it, but I know for fact if I have a string bad days it all begins to accumulate into me making the odd stupid play/call down. Whereas by not checking I can play without being influenced by prior results and eliminate those consecutive days where I'd be playing sub par poker otherwise.

By now everybody should be aware that having a losing month is possible although it shouldn't happen too often to good players. So what difference does it make whether or not one has looked at results during the month? Obv. it will be frustrating, but I believe it will be just as frustrating if you did look at results during the month as you will be more aware of the downswing which easily can become a distraction.

hehe , well yeah in my head I would be disapointed to win less then 5 k in 200k hands, but I always like to set the $ amount simply to being positive
