Was it wrong to 3bet pre? Didn't have any history with the villain but he didnt seem to get too out of line in our short time together

I don't necessarily feel your 3bet was wrong as we can still be ahead of a lot of hands that open from MP, however the real question is figuring out what range of hands would V call a 3 bet with that would raise this flop.

looking at that TT, 99, JJ, KQ all make sense and perhaps he does this with some flush draws. Since you mentioned that he doesnt get too out of line and with no hud stats, this is usually what I would lean towards. Against that range we only have about 18% equity. (even less if he's trapping with QQ+). Overall I feel this a fairly comfortable fold and I wouldnt really advise chasing the open ender but calling one street might be ok also to protect our 3betting range.
