Question about BB/100 Question about BB/100

Ok, i have about 17000 hands in my history and my bb/100 is at 2.31 at microstakes 0.01/0.02 NL. I don't think i've being playing really bad, but i recently decided to step up to 0.02/0.05 NL because i have 100$ in my bankroll and i thought i would take a 'shot' after doing some more reading and studying over the weekend.

I've been playing a lot more solid poker (tightened up not bluffing unnecessary) , really trying hard to fold preflop any marginal hands OOP and thinking about peoples ranges when calling etc....

Now my bb/100 in 0.02/0.05NL is 27.36 after 1k hands is this very high? Should expect variance to bring me back down to where i was at 0.01/0.02 or is this normal? Should i step down or have i successfully taken a good shot here?

So i expect you to crush nl10 with 322.8bb/100. If you will keep playing better at every limit and keep trying really hard to fold more marginal hands OOP...
When you reach nl100 just know that you should play deep tables as your win rate is expected to be 530'449bb/100 and it is 5'304bb per hand = 53BI per hand- if you will play regular tables opponents will not have that many chips on table to maintain your winrate. Affter nl100 even deep tables will not save you. At that point i suggest that you start play tournaments and convert that insane winrate to ROI and take down every single big tourney to collect as much money as possible. Spent that money wisely. Cheers!
Thanks for that cancer response, really impressive trolling in the beginner forum. Do you stop by often?

Definitely a small sample size, but I don't think the two limits are that different. Taking small shots when the games are playing well is a good idea. Good luck!

Were you bluffing fishes when playing 2NL? Don't. Keep playing 5NL, drop if you hit $60-$80, depending on how comfortable you are.

It seems very unlikely that you will maintain that WR, but if you have improved I don't see why you shouldn't be able to beat NL5, it's really not that hard, so just keep playing NL5 and if you lose you can consider moving down, but for now I don't see why you wouldn't stay there.

Don't worry about your win rate. Like really, just ignore that stat. Just focus on learning to read hands and play optimal poker.
