Lol what a weird hand, that is not a set, that is trips...

So he calls your steal with AK, wich is not bad if he wants to keep your worse hand in play, but then he just calls the river..QJ, set vs straight. good? so funny

Check/call flop, check/call turn, check/call river depends on the sizes

I thought a set can be broken down into 2 categories, trips and a set? No? If no then I'm sorry. I think he just called the river because he was afraid of a possible full house. Have a great day.

I just came back to poker after a long hiatus so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt.

But I think that the line you took is a little strange, you have to remember that at these levels a tight and straight forward approach tends to be more profitable.

I don't hate the call in the SB but with a 12/7 villain I also don't hate a fold. QKo out of position is rarely an easy hand to play.

Now the flop, what is your reasoning for leading out with a 1/2 pot bet? In poker leading into the pre flop raiser is called a donk bet or a weak lead. It is rarely a strong play and against a competent villain you will be getting raised a lot with a very wide range. Leading with a bet on this flop is also strange because this flop nails the pre flop raisers range. I know we only have 69 hands played against him but with 12/7 stats, we can be fairly sure he isn't raising with garbage here. So instead of leading with a bet on the flop, I think you should have went check/call.

Now the turn gives you trips. A set is when you have a pocket pair (22 - AA) and you hit a third card on the board. So with a Q in your hand and 2 Q's on the board, you have trip queens. The check/call here isn't bad. If we check-raise then we are letting the villain know exactly what we have. What other hands do we lead the flop and then check raise the turn with? I think its only sets and hands that have a Q in them.

The way that the villain has played this hand, the river card looks like a blank. I would most likely opt for a check raise here on the river. If he checks behind, no big deal. But when we lead out, he is going to fold all hands that we beat and will typically raise only with hands that we can't beat. Which puts us in a tough spot because its hard to fold trip Queens with how this hand played out. But for some weird reason villain calls behind on the river and we lose a very low amount for this cooler board. I don't think he calls behind because he is afraid of a full house, I think he calls behind because he is bad.

      Hope this helps!
