I was big into poker a few years ago, and after a few years off, I have come back to playing online in the micros. I have zero ambitions to make it big, or even really make money, but I would like to get a bit better and improve my play and move out of the 2 NL Zoom and 5 NL Zoom games.
So basically, is Poker Tracker 4 worthwhile as a purchase? I play on Pokerstars exclusively right now, so that probably needs to get taken into account. I play mostly full ring, with the occasional 6 max game. I am usually playing 2-4 tables, with a couple of regular tables as well as Zoom tables.
It's extremely worth it for the price. You will have access to all your past hands so you can learn from them, you will be able to track your results, and of course you will boost your win rate by having extra info on your opponents.
Personally yes, pt4 has made the game more interesting for me and improved my game. I mostly use it for the hud but its jam packed with stuff for study though admittedly I don't use this aspect as much as I should.
Seeing my results as a graph over time has been the trigger for some changes I'm making to my own game. Having a hud means I don't have to mentally track everything and concentrate on what I find interesting when playing.
Is it legal to use PT4 on PokerStars? How about America's Card Room?
Pokerstars - yes, but some features are prohibited to be open at the same time I believe. HUD is ok, showing stat accumulated through your own play only.
everything is fine with ACR, you can even open pokerstove whilst playing.. I messaged you earlier. I have a PT4 micro stakes that i dont use since i upgraded my computer and now just use HM2
If you don't want to purhcase it without giving up an edge then go play on partypoker which have anon tables. Every other site without anon tables you're giving up an edge as too much disparity in the player pool to peg down a player type efficiently without it in alot of instances. Also good for review of your own game as others have stated.
