Villain is 18/14/3.5 over 1814 hands
opens SBvBB 17%
fold to 3bet after SB open 100% (2/2)

When he opens for 3.5x, I felt like he had a very strong range, but I couldn't fold AKs. I felt if I 3bet, he would only 4bet or fold and if he 4bet, I'm dead. He makes a pretty big bet on the flop, but I've got TPTK + a gutshot to the nuts so I decide to c the turn. Turns gives me extra outs to the nut flush, but again he makes a big bet. Right now, I'm putting him on 2P or a set and think if I hit my flush, I'm gonna get paid so I call again. Is this mathematically correct?

given how nitty sb looks i dont mind flatting pre nor do i mind 3b, both options are cool.

post flop seems fine although if turn is a blank its an insta muck. turn is still close with his sizing but i think implied odds make up for it

Why does his 3.5x open scream strength? Does he usually 3x bvb? Even if he does, I'm not so convinced the extra .5bbs implies a range that has our AKs crushed (KK+, AK+). I think his range can still be as wide as (88+, AJo+, AJs+, KQs), if not a bit wider. Also as a reminder all of this is contingent on his 3.5x raise being unusual and/or indicative of strength. He opens 17% bvb which is a generous amount of hands.

Given the information above, I would probably still flat preflop unless I had been 3betting him quite often BvB. Unless Villain is completely incompetent we can't flat all of our strong hands and raise only bluffs, but if you have no dynamic then flatting is probably better in a vacuum considering he folds so often preflop.

3betting pre is still better here

if this villain opened utg, i would be flatting as his opening AND continuing range would be very tight

in these positions i expect him to defend 3bets rather wide, and if he happens to fold pre, thats a good result too

Pre is likely fine
Postflop is good.
