PT doesn't calculate rake paid in the same way Merge does.

if a TAG opens UTG+1, what is your CO cold calling range?

CO cold call... 22+, AKo+, AQs+, suited connects T9s+

Does that look about right? Are you ever calling AQo? Are you ever folding bottom pairs?

So the new fast tables you can sit with 160bb. I thought this was great!... Then I saw people can also sit with 20bb. Wtf?

Anyone else having HM2's HUD not showing on the Fast tables? I can go to Active Session > Table Finder and have stats show on the TF window, but not into the active table itself.

While I've only played ~1500 hands since returning I am amazed how many changes there are to the software and such.

I've dled HM2 and played with it some and im amazed at the analysis tools it has compared to HM1. Its much more user friendly than HM1 also.

Def seems like there are a few more super tight players ~9/7 style than there used to be a few years ago but that could just be due to the site and not having 30k people playing micros also.

Few years ago when I was posting a ton it was the bbc code via photobucket I do believe.

Brag: Biggest winner at NL10 on Merge in July, according to PTR... almost double 2nd place guy

Beat: It's still NL10

Variance: The amount of money I won would be 3rd on the NL25 list and 11th on the NL50 list, so why move up?

meh the rake at 10NL is a killer. If I remember correctly, moving up to 25NL saves you the equivalent of having 25% extra rakeback.

Explain how, the rake is killer at 25NL too. It is ridiculous that rake is uncapped (I come from a live background, and am not used to having uncapped rake...)

Can someone please explain how merge calculates rake in regards to rakeback?

chaser3, for rakeback, Merge uses weighted contributed. The way I understand it is as follows:

Say you are getting 35% RB. You are credited with the amount of rake equivalent to the amount you contributed to the pot and get 35% of that as RB. So with a 100 pot where you put in 40 and total rake was 5 (made up numbers for ease of calc). Your WC rake is (40/100)*5 = 2. ie you contributed 40% to the pot so get credited with 40% of the rake. At 35% RB you get 2*35% = .7 (70 cents) paid to you.

That's just for RB calculation. I don't know off hand what the actual rake formula Merge uses and where it is capped, but it should be on their site somewhere. No rake of you don't see a flop as far as I know.

But does it include the the hands where you lose but contribute to the pot? Say its BvB, and its AIPF for 100BB's each, am I supposed to be getting credit for my 100Bb contributed even if I lose the pot?

Thanks a lot.

yes, you get that credit for RB purposes. So in you BvB case, you get credited with 50% of the rake for that hand and get 35% of that as RB. That's how I understand it. If someone knows differently, I am sure they will correct em soon enough

See that's how I understand how weigth rake works too.

But the other day, I had one of those days where literally nothing went right. AA <KK, KK<QQ, got oversetted twice, etc. etc. Anyways the point is that I got stacked probably like 8 times.

However, I got almost no rakeback because I barely scooped any pots. Should I contact them about this? Because if Merge uses weighted rakeback then they basically screwed me out of a ton of rakeback..

You have to build your own stat or import one already made for the WC rake and RB to work on PT3/4. No idea if PTR is correct nor do I know if HEM has that stat.

chaser, if you are looking at your merge ledger, that thing can be off by a session or 12. Look back over several sessions and see it there is a large RB payment there. If not, I would contact your rep and see what they have to say.
