Had already played 2 hands against villain, one where he limped in EP, another player limped, I raised with JJ and he called and then check folded the JT2ddx flop. Probably about 4 hands later or so the same situation came where he limped UTG, another player limped behind, I Isod ATo from the CO (Got 4 callers), Cbet a KQ2 flop and check folded the turn (against the BTN). Notes say that he limp called J2o PF so whilst the sample size is SOOPER small, I'm expecting that he's probably going to be having a lot of les mis hands.
OTF when I get raised in the game I thought his range was something like: a few 6's, all Tens, Two Pair, Sets, FD's, and a straight draws too - this looks like: (TT,66,22,ATs,A6s,KTs,QTs,JTs,T2s+,62s,KdJd,QdJd,9 d8d,9d7d,A6o,T3o+,97o+) which I am a slight favourite against . In the game I thought that I could 3bet the flop and shove all turns because he was going to be calling the flop raise REALLY wide and as well as having some fold equity, I would be ahead (equity wise) on most flops -
I think this was a mistake looking back, I probably should have just called flop and turn. As soon as I played the hand though it sorta kinda felt really spewy.
Anwyay, questions here are:
- I think the best line looking back is call flop and check call turn (given that we're almost 40% OTT) and hope to get there - this guy probably isn't folding most of his pairs to a BIG river bet, even if the FD gets there -
Does this sound right?
- Given how I've played the hand (just clicking buttons everywhere and what not) ,
Is shoving the turn better than check calling? At the time I thought it was because we might have some fold equity on our turn shove but against this guy in particular, do we really? Also given the size of the pot and the range I've given him I can't fold if he shoves the turn - Should I be giving him a tighter range?
