Arp died September 2015. Whirlpool will die eventually too. But we can delay it as long as possible by sitting in when it's low if we're not busy. I created this thread to spread awareness.

If you are a reg who currently relies on Whirlpool for income, if it dies you are gonna be forced to either

1) play that silly bum hunting game
2) switch to 6m which doesn't work for everyone
3) get a job cause no way you can make enough money playing Hartley unless making $5/hr is enough.

Let's not let Whirlpool die just yet. Hopefully it can survive until 2018.

Last post will surely motivate the struggling 10z reg to move up. Thanks for that input.

after I grind my bankroll a little more I'll play some with you guys, for the old times haha.

Do you still play some volume at 25, coldeu?

Funny thing is that I used to be a crazy reg in the FR times we used to battle each other, now that I started playing 6-max I've turned into a nit haha

I've been playing at those times last few days so have witnessed it wit LRR and Dogarse.

I think it is only like that for like a couple of hours a day. Rest of the day it is like 100+ players

We can't let Whirlpool die guys . If Whirlpool is dying before I go to bed I'll be sitting in tonight. I figure two tables when there's 20 people with a couple hyperturbos on the side is probably less predatory-looking than pointlessly having four tables.

Some random reg talked to me in chat at Whirlpool and asked if I'd be down to try to start Arp. While I like the idea there are three problems.

    1) Need 9 people to sit in and then need fish to sit to make it worthwhile. Could take a while but if we all sit one table Arp/three tables Whirlpool or 1 and 4 if you have a big enough screen it's not really going that far out of the way.

    2) Whirlpool is already endangered. Starting Arp would draw a significant portion of players from Whirlpool which will make it even more endangered.

    3) There's no way Arp would become sustainable 24/7 when even Whirlpool reaches 0 sometimes. Unless something happens to increase traffic to Stars or Zoom we would have to manually start it many times to get a game going.

I'd love to have Arp running again even if it won't be as soft was it was in 2015. But I'm not sure it's worth the increased risk of Whirlpool dying.

If you try to start it aim to do it at a time when Whirlpool has close to maximum numbers so that they both run.

You may get sit ins from normal cash tables plus Baade/Hydra plus other. I don't think you can assume a significant portion of Whirlpool would migrate. More likely a small amount and they may choose to play alongside.

You shouldn't aim to get it running 24/7, one step at a time. Simply getting it going should be the main goal

If I see people sitting I'll chuck an entry in.

Stars have said they're going to get rid of table selection sometime in the summer, hopefully if they do that it will push a lot more players to the zoom pools.

Somehow we went from managing to get Arp to run to Whirlpool being endangered. 38 entries right now. Please sit in if you can.

Posted this in the Starts software improvement thread.

Go give it a +1. They do seem to pay attention when multiple people support a workable idea.

Omega Centauri died, arp died, now whirlpool is dying (currently not running). A big problem with these zoom pools is that once they stop running they're really hard to get started again.

Can we make the zoom pools play as a single table when there's less than 9 individual entries (for full ring), maybe even two single tables when there's less than 18 entries. This would make these games so much easier to start and I'm sure we would see much more action if these were implemented.
