Woudl anyoen suggest a specific set of NLHE vids on one of the training sites? I was thinking about DC, but I didn't want look at ones that are out oof date with how NLHE (online) games are today (the past 2-3 years). Thanks.

Every year at about this time....as my fantasy football draft rapidly approaches....I start to have this feeling of panic as I feel completely unprepared. Every year, I get caught up on all the trades....do my research....and get all my players pre-ranked in plenty of time. Yet every year I still have this week of panic and fear leading up to my draft.

I used to feel this way (especially in live drafts) but auto rankings ended it. On a side note, was a t a pub a few days ago and saw a group doing a NHL draft. Not only early but extremely optimistic.

Hey....this isn't the most distressing and troubling thing in my life. I also have to balance my many hobbies with the 10 or so hours of work I put in a week....errr....unless Sammy is reading then I mean 60+ hours a week.

I'm not sure who you do your fantasy league through or if you do IDP's, but Yahoo's rankings suck.

Below is the thread I found that in. You can skim it to get some informed opinions of what exactly it means. Essentially it sounds like a step in the right direction but not a huge game changer. Many states have their own laws against gambling so this federal judge's decision would not change anything for those states. It does sound like it means that the DOJ or any federal prosecutors will have less precedence to go after online poker.

What I really don't understand and what someone in the thread above asked, was why did they try to prosecute this person using federal laws instead of NY state laws? Doesn't NY have some of the toughest anti-gambling laws? Maybe Mpethy or someone with a law background could provide some further insight on what this all means.

See Part V(A)(2)-(3), (B), supra. The influence of skill on the outcome of poker games is far greater than that on the outcomes of the games enumerated in the IGBA’s illustrations of gambling. While a gambler with an encyclopedic knowledge of sports may perform better than others when wagering on the outcome of sporting events, unlike in poker, his skill does not influence game play. A sports bettor is better able to pick a winning team, but cannot make them win. In poker, by contrast, increased proficiency boosts a player’s chance of winning and affects the outcome of individual hands as well as a series of hands. Expert poker players draw on an array of talents, including facility with numbers, knowledge of human psychology, and powers of observation and deception. Players can use these skills to win even if chance has not dealt them the better hand. ESPN w/o IDP's. I just don't put much value in any preseason rankings in a sport with so many vagaries.

Looking over the Browns schedule this year, I think 0-16 is a real possibility. KC and Washington at home late in December are our best chances.
